Credis looked the window over the field. His eyes wandred slowly out over the field until they fell upon the forest. he had always felt a strange connection to those woods, but he had been told ever since he was a child that he was not to enter the woods for any reason. He was warned by his father, Lord Naryo, that doing so would put the entire kingdom in danger. So he had stayed away from the woods. But recently, he felt an even stronger urge to enter the woods than he had felt about anything in his life. He was sure that his father was trying to do what was right, but he still wondered what could be in those woods that was so dangerous. He had seen many of the villagers as well as merchants wandering in and out of the forest as they pleased. He decided to ask his father directly. He stormed away from the window, and headed for the audience chamber. He would find out why he was not allowed to enter the woods. He nearly ran over a young squire he had never seen before as he came barreling down the stairs from his room. He paid the young squire no attention, and dashed down the hall. He thrust open the door to the audience chamber, and began yelling aloud.

Credis : Father! Where are you? I must speak with you. Father!

The three men standing in the room stopped what they were saying and looked at the young prince. The man in the middle walked over to Credis.

Naryo : What is it son? I am trying to sing an agreement that will benefit the entire kingdom here. What is so important that you must interupt us?

Credis glanced down at the floor, a look of shame crossing his face. However, that feeling was soon forgotten as he remembered why he had come.

Credis : Father! I need to know why i cannot enter the forest. I wish to go there. I feel a need to explore those woods.

Naryo's face grew pale, but he regained his composure before Credis noticed.

Naryo : I've told you Credis, you cannot go there. I am Lord of this land, and my word stands. Even my son will not disobey my orders. You are NOT to go into those woods, ever. Do you understand?

Credis : But Fath....

Naryo : No! You will not eneter the woods, do you understand?

Credis : Yes Father.

Naryo : Good. Now, i believe you are late for your lessons with Master Feyd. Get going.

Credis : Yes father.

Credis walked out of the room, not hiding his disappointment at his father's answer. He then remembered that today was the day Master Feyd had promised he would teach some magic spells. He quickly dashed down the hallway, and rounded the corner. He nearly clobbered the young squire he had nearly run over on the stairs.

Credis : My apologies. I haven't seen you around here before. May i ask your name?

Squire: "I accept your apologies, sir. My name is Sir Siozedur. I know... it's a strange name but I wasn't the one who chose it..."

Siozedur paused and tried to take the stance of a tough, brave knight... but he failed. Maybe was it becease of his not-so-impressive equipment and the fact that he simply didn't looked that impressive or anything?

Siozedur: "I am the new recruit... and I've been hired for a very special job. My task is to protect you, sir. I am to follow you and help you. Most people think that being a bodyguard is boring but... for some reason, I feel like this task will be anything but boring."

Siozedur smiled.

Siozedur: "I believe you're going to a magic class, right? I know a few tricks and as such, could help you a bit... but you probably won't need them since you're going to have Master Feyd as a teacher. I do not know him personally... but getting the title of "Master" as a magician isn't easy. He must be quite skilled and knowledgable! May you like him or not... listen to his advice. I get the feeling you'll need that advice someday or something..."

Siozedur laughed.

Siozedur: "Sorry sir! Sorry! It sometimes seems as if I was acting as if I tought I was someone more important than I truly am... but in truth, I know my place. I will not bother you anymore. Go on! Master Feyd is waiting..."

Siozedur placed himself out of Credis' way...

Credis : Please. You need not treat me the same way as you act in my father's presence. I am not my father, and i would much rather like a companion than a body guard. As far as the magic class goes, i am sure Master Feyd will be much tougher on me than the other student's, seeing as how everyone percieves that since i am of noble blood, that i deserve much more attention.

[Credis slowly began walking towards the classrooms on the far side of the castle's east wing.]

Credis : So Siozedur, tell me about yourself. Where are you from? Why did you decide to become a knight?

Siozedur: "Well... I come from a small town..."

Siozedur seemed uneasy...

Siozedur: "...from the kingdom of Alterecia."

Siozedur paused for a while, especting a reaction from Credis...

Siozedur: "My town has been affected by a strange curse... each generation, a child shall be born with something on the back of either his left or right hand... this child shall be born with..."

Siozedur took off his right glove and shown the back of his hand to Credis!

Siozedur: "...THIS on the back of his hand!"

On the back of his hand was a huge, terrifying, blood-red eye. Also, his hand was obviously containing much, MUCH more veins and nerves than a normal hand would contain...

Siozedur: "I don't know where this came from and why it has always been on the back of my hand... but one thing is sure: I want to remove it."

Siozedur closed his eyes and calmed down...

Siozedur: "As for why I became a knight... well... this thing on my hand is contributing. I was born a mere peasant but with the thingy..."

Siozedur opened his eyes and his arm began to change color until it had transformed into cold steel. Then, his hand transformed, taking a shape that was between the shape of a spear's blade and the head of a dragon/worm monster. The arm was actually breathing and it's 3 pairs of red eyes were looking around on it's own. It was truly a creepy sight...

Siozedur: "Everytime I felt threatened during my life or wanted to threaten someone, the thing transformed my arm into a weapon... sometimes it's a human weapon... sometimes it's not... sometimes I barely know what form it took. Aslo... each time the thing transform, I suddenly learn how to use it in it's new form for some reason. It's really... really weird..."

His arm returned to normal... well, somewhat. The eye was still there.

Siozedur: "Living with a parasitic weapon isn't easy or fun... and it is why I'm a knight. Since I am cursed to have my arm transform into various weapons... I tought it would be best to put it to use until I can find a magician powerful enough to remove it. You see... the local magicians in my town could not remove it. In fact... no one in the kingdom could. According to what they say, only a true master can remove a parasitic life-form that is so deeply bound with a human..."

Siozedur put his glove on.

Siozedus: "I don't know if Master Feyd can remove it... but even if he can't, I'll still stay with you after the attempted... or not... to remove the thingy."

Siozedur smiled.

Siozedur: "I've been hired for two full years... so this means I'll follow you for a long time, Credis. It wouldn't hurt to see how you'll do in a magic class. This will help me know you better."

... suddenly, there was a whisper...

???: "Credis... do not be like him... Do not be afraid of me... I am not a parasite... I am... something he can barely understand... but maybe you... maybe you, you can understand what I am..."

For a second, it seemed to Credis as if the eye had glowed blue under Siozedur's glove... maybe an illusion?

[Credis decided that it was best to ignore the whisper for now, and head to Master Feyd's magic class. He remembered how Master Feyd never liked being kept waiting.]

Credis : That is indeed a very strange curse, and i am sure Master Feyd will do what he can. However, he has never liked to be kept waiting.

[Credis began jogging along the hallway. He steadily increased this speed, until he was nearly sprinting down the hall.]

Credis : Master Feyd! I am ready for Instruction.

[Credis dashed through the door into the room.]

Feyd : How many times must i tell you that i do not like it when you call me master. We've known each other our whole lives.

[Master Feyd stood about Credis' height, and looked to be a slightly smaller build. his hair was a dark shade of brown, and it was not unkept, but not neat. His hair just always seem to fall into the exact same place.]

Feyd : Are you really ready this time?

Siozedur entered the room just a few seconds later.

Seeing that the class was beginning, he just stood next to the door, watching...

Feyd : The first thing i will teach you is this. The effect a spell has IS affected by your emotions. Even if you do not think so, your state of mind will affect the outcome of your spell. However, the effect is not predictable. If you are in a joyous mood, and you cast a spell, it could have a different effect than the next time you try to cast the same spell in the same mood. It's because you are not in the exact same state of mind. For example, If you cast a fire spell when you are angry what do you think would happen?

Credis : The flame would get bigger, or hotter?

Feyd : Exactly, but how much so depends on how mad you are. Understand?

Credis : Yes.

[Feyd spread his feet apart.]

Feyd : Then let me demonstrate the spell i will teach you today. We will be learning a protective spell today. This spell will allow you to deflect a portion of damage away from you. It cannot prevent all damage, or deflect all damage, but when your spirit is strong enough it can make a large difference in a battle.

OFF: Since I'm the only one who joined the RP... it could be a good idea to fast-foward the story to the moment after the class has been completed.

My character will continue on doing nothing... until the class ends.
