Stop it! Just stop bieng shy!...that's horrid advice ...I'm a tad shy around new people. But I quickly become unshy after about half and hour to an hour. I just realize there isn't anything to be shy ABOUT. There just otehr people. And about advice...I can't really think of any right now. I'll get back to ya... |

| LOL. Well, ya know, Claw... Don't look at your shyness as such a curse. Because it's not. At least people don't hate you for who you are, when all you ever wanted was to be nice to them...I try to reach out to people, and they don't LIKE it. Apparently, there's something 'wrong' with me that 'scares' people. No, it's not my looks...It's just ME. I guess I'm so sincere and openly emotional that I 'scare' people somehow... Good humor in your post, by the way, I liked it.  OK, OK...All right. I think I've got something. I agree with Boomer. There's no real reason to be shy, is there? Think about it. I mean, yea, I'm shy to many people now...Shyer than I used to be...But I know perfectly well why that is. I'm shy around teenage girls because when I started trying to make friends with them, they brushed me off, lied to me, or stabbed me in the back- and I'm not even talking about dating. So now I walk the halls with a strange hidden fear of teenage girls. Just dandy, eh? But I know WHY- because all I can see in them is what evils they're capable of. If they don't strike me as honest, that means they might be DIShonest, and dishonesty is what has caused me all my emotonal crap. So think about that. WHY are you shy? Don't know? Then there's no reason to be. Don't rush yourself into changing too drastically. Change yourself only to make yourself happy, and do it at a pace that's just right for you. Call people more, e-mail people more, try to start conversations a bit more often...See what works. |

| I was shy for a while, but now I could give a rats ass if anyone cares. you see who does care. If someone makes fn of you they are achknolging your precencs and making fun of you becuase thay are stupid. Someone could walk up to me say I hate you and I will laugh because I am thinking and I care whty again. I don't see why you are shy if you are a nice person and easy to be arond then jsut talk a little more. It will come around eventually. | |||

| I really know how you feel. I was the same way most of my life. I always held back saying things, even to my friends. It was crushing. It started in about 4th or 5th grade I think. People were being really mean to me, since I was really open and outgoing, but people found me annoying. After that, I became very quiet and secluded. It drove me insane for years. Finally, I got fed up. I started working on being more open and talking more. I started a little bit at a time, and started to find my voice little by little. Many years and many words later, I got a date to the prom with the prettiest girl on the stage crew! As you work on this, remember two things: Only you can change yourself, and to never be afraid to roll the dice every once and again. Sometimes it just pays off in spades! |
