The GC has a IP address is there some way other than SDload,PSO or Viper to upload to that IP.

Not everyone can Buy all that stuff.

Is there a way to upload to that IP using other ways?

Is there some way of taking out the LAN code in PSO to make this cheaper?

Why can't you just Upload code to the GC using PC programs?

Can Action Replay trick the GC into thinking LAN is between the GC and a PC instead of between 2 GCs.Then just upload a .dol file.

Who does the GC know another GC is on its LAN?(IP address?).

There has to be another way

No, there is no way to just upload to the IP address. There must be some sort of server running to get the cube to do anything with the data uploaded. For example, PSO sets up a client that has the capability to accept uploads AND execute the code that was uploaded. This is what was exploited to make PSUL and PSOload.

YOu see, uploading anything to the GameCube relies on some VERY specific circumstances. If things aren't *just right* the data uploaded won't be used at all. In other words, the game must not only be able to accept the data uploaded, but it must also be able to execute the code uploaded. This is difficult to accomplish, even if you're able to perform a buffer overflow attack. Without getting too technical, consider it impossible with anything other than PSO.

The other games with online capabilities (Mario Kart Double Dash, 1080 Avalanche, Kirby's Air Ride, and maybe another...) probably do not contain any similar features, simply because they have no use for it. In PSO, it would have been used to "upgrade" portions of the game as Sega made special upgrades available. The LAN-only games would never need to be upgraded, nor could they.

As for SDload, or PSOload, I'd suggest SDload. In the end, it really is the least expensive solution. From your post, it seems you already have the Action Replay. All you need now is an SD adapter ($15 - $30), SD card ($5) and SD reader/writer ($5). If you can't afford that I can only say, "too bad". There's not a lot else you can do to get code running on GCN. (As one of the developers for SDload, I should know. Nintendo locked it down tightly.)

Oh, there's also Max Drive Pro, which could possibly work. It's about $40, and comes from Datel. So you may be able to find them in the AR section. Since Datel's website has been gone for a while, you may only be able to find them at Amazon and eBay, online.

Uploading isn't the problem, it's getting the GC to accept it.

You'd have to put the code into something else, which would require the very same method.

Because Nintendo wasn't stupid enough to design the GC to run any random piece of code you send to it.

AR has nothing to do with tricking it into thinking a PC is a GC. I think I heard of a way to do it with an AR code though.
