Alright, when I'm browsing, I'll click on a various link or what have you, like a link to Acmlm's, or anywhere for that matter, and a lot of the time a box'll pop up and say "board.acmlm.org can't be found" or whatever the link I cliked was to. I might have to click a few times before I actually get it to go, but then it's fine... I have Cox, and use Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2 |

Seems like a DNS problem for me, like the local DNS server dosen't give you the right IP at first but then does after awhile. You can always try to set IP addresses in stone with the hosts file so it dosen't do that. But you would get problems incase the IP for acmlm.org changed. If it's the DNS server there is not much other stuff you can do, expect for whine at their support. (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 04-02-05 11:34 AM) |

I have that same problem quite frequently, although I usually don't get the "[domain] cannot be found" error; Firefox will just sit there and do nothing until I click the link again. I've never been able to figure out what causes it, and I'm never patient enough to wait and see if the page actually loads. | |||

I have the same problem on Mozilla Firefox 5.0 (aka Firefox 1.0.2). Not only do I have this problem with links, but also on web searches and typing in some web addresses. I've never been patient enough to wait for the page to load, and it seems to happen at random times, usually for a couple hours, then it works fine. There's no way to fix it that I know, but I'm not a computer expert. If you do have a solution for me, please make it simple so that an average teenager could understand. Thanks. |
