A few months ago, my family got a little hand-held Tetris game. Everyone in my family is a genuine Tetris adict. Now, we all play the mode where you try to get as many lines as possible in two minutes. They get 23-27 lines. I can now get 41 lines... Two questions: 1) Is that really absurdly high, or is my family just not as freaky at Tetris as me? 2) Does anyone know a computer version of Tetris that has the two minute mode? I want to see if I'm better than the board peoples. |

1) probably the latter 2) you may have better chances getting someone to write a tetris clone for you than finding a multiplayer one with a two minute mode... |

X will have fun with this thread. I'm decent but...I know I can still get my ass knocked around...it's definitely not the same thing as Tetris Attack...and even then there are the opponents out there that are tougher... ...like...world record holders...but he's a different story. |

My exgf got over 1,000,000 on my Tetris DX not once, not twice, but THREE times. The highest I could ever get was slightly higher than 600,000

On the NES Tetris, the highest I got was 90-something lines total...after that point, the blocks just come down too fast.

Used to play Tetris, when I was really young. Got tired and bored of it, mostly. I played it a few weeks ago at the arcdae, read above, and then I stopped playing and went on to something different. Maybe it was, because at the time, my mother and older people were playing the game. *shurgs* |

My parents can play tetris and tetris like games for hours... Heh, my dad did borrow my old GB (which I don't use anyway) just for playing Dr. Mario and Tetris plus. I prefer other puzzle games like Puyo Puyo or Panel de pon/tetris attack thought. |

eh. I used to have tetris and Dr. mario (not the double pack, two separate games) on my old bulk gb withthe green screen. My mom would play it when I was younger, since I never knew how (being only 4 years old at the time) I should se ehow I fare at it now that my skills have...improved, to say the least

*tries the 2 minute rush in Nintendo Tetris* 1st try: 35 lines, score 23100 (Level 9) 2nd try: 38 lines, score 19061 3rd try: 39 lines, score 19350 4th try: 38 lines, score 32850 (Level 15) 5th try: 40 lines, score 30590 6th try: 44 lines, score 75471 (Level 18, scored 2 Tetrises ) 41 is good, but definitely beatable But I used to be even better at Tetris, way back around 1990 when it was still fairly new ... my mother played it a lot too We only had Nintendo Tetris (on NES), but also played Tengen Tetris before it ... I also remade Tetris in QBasic in 1997, then in Pascal later that year, it's not that hard to code |

Ace; I still have that game XD (*Tetris QB) And that's not even my best... we're talking 800++ liens... hehe. Later tonight I'll try Ultra mode... 3m time limit. And in the NES Tetris [not the crappy TENGEN version, the real Nintendo one [FROM RUSSIA WITH FUN ]] I got 200+ lines (201 max I think) with 490000 or so... hehe... And in Marathon I was interrupted by SOMEONE [glares at dad]... |

My Record in Tetris DX is 1131 Lines with over 1'000'000 Points, but it was a one time experience. Now I'm usually at 250 Lines, but when I breake the 300 barrier, it's no problem anymore. Need to play more Tetris DX.. but Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Picchi Pichi Pichi Picchotti Live Start doesn't want to let go. (edited by Acmlm on 03-30-04 09:11 AM) |

I think the farthest I ever got in Nintendo Tetris was around 215 lines (Level 21 anyway), while my mother once got around 220 ... but I also managed to get 70-80 lines once, starting from Level 19 Also, if someone is ever good enough to get all the way to Level 29, a nice surprise awaits there ... the block speed doubles once more to make the game nearly impossible, as I found out one day while playing the game slowed down I liked Tengen Tetris, maybe because of its 2-player mode ... My best in it was 805 lines, did about 300 in the last level (17) alone ... and one thing I noticed in that game (when cheating to get over 1000 lines) is that the score resets to 100000 after 1 million |

I like plain Tetris. As a matter of fact, back in 1996, I had received an Original Gameboy that was bundled with Tetris, I didn't know what it was at first, but as I kept on playing it, I managed to overcome lvl 9 - 5 in type B, and I only made it up to lvl 15 in type A. I still have the two lying around somewhere, but I really haven't touched it in years. |
