| I didn't say that. If the teachers have to teach this stuff because they were told to, that's fine. But it shouldn't be biased. For example, they shouldn't teach that pre-marital sex is wrong, nor that sex without a condom will give you an STD. That's all I'm trying to say. |

| A good portion of kids (even at "good" schools) start having sex around 7th grade or earlier. And that was when I was growing up (I'm 22). Who knows how young it's gotten. You think they're too innocent to be dealing with this stuff or something? Better they learn how to protect themselves from STDs, pregnancy, and all that jazz before they get in worse trouble, I say. Sure, not everyone is going to have sex that early, but choosing not to educate is simply looking the other way, and hoping nothing bad will happen. Out of sight, out of mind, as is often said. | |||

| Because reports say it is true. It has been published a few times in medical journals that the age of adolesence is going down. Besides, even if this weren't happening. A considerate and intelligent sex-ed program implimented in the 6th-8th grades, with an additional one in high school is what will keep kids healthy and safe. |

| Yeeesh! Kids becoming natural adults at such an early age is horrible. I admit, Sex-Ed CAN help them, but it can't be too extreme, and be based on political beliefs. But still, kids are their parents responsibility, and they shouldn't rely on schools for everything. Why can't they take the time to explain to their kids the risks of sex without protection, or how their bodies work? I was just disgusted to hear from a middle-aged woman how the female sex organs work. The girls were even more disgusted to see the male anatomy. If parents were to explain it, then it might be easier for kids to handle. |

| Exhibit A: All I did was say the teachings shouldn't be biased. Exhibit B: You'd expect maturity from 10-12 year olds just learning how the bodies of the opposite sex works? Parents should get that knowledge. There are organizations and groups dedicated to teaching parents about sex risks. As for materials, libraries are full of books and papers on sex. |

| Competence. You're really missing the bigger picture here. I'd LOVE to do a social experiment. We'll have a community of 10'000. You get 5000, I get 5000. I decide to have a stronger sex-ed program in place. You have yours with your 5000. We'll let the programs work for 5 years. We'll see how whom has been more successful. |
