OK, I know there's a thread on this...from a year ago.

I just had to make a new one on it, coz I just finished watching it a few hours ago.

And wow....Hellsing was the last anime I watched, and it was over a year ago. I was wary to pick up any others because 1) my hard drive is so damn small, and 2) I didn't want to get a nugget, and forever tarnish anime (I held Hellsing in a very high light).

But holy gee golly, Cowboy Bebop is awesome. What happened was...after watching LA Confidential, a detective type movie, I wanted to write a short story on crime-noir type. I had remembered a movie from the Animatrix, A Detective's Story, and I went and watched that.

There was some basic info on the movie, and a guy, Wantanabe (probably spelled wrong), had directed it, along with Cowboy Bebop. I had heard about it, so I decided to give it a go.

Boy, what a great idea. I started on Sunday, dling a few eps at a time, and I'm gonna buy the complete series somewhere once I get 15 or so more bucks.

Anyways, that's my Cowboy Bebop story.

Cowboy Bebop WAS awesome. BUT, the major problem in it was that there wasn't enough focus on the actual story at hand and too many filler episodes.

Yeah, I can definitely see that, and there are hella questions.

This could be me just not knowing, but what's the ISSP? The Syndicates (I have a vague idea)? Then not to mention what / how Spike and Vicious worked together pre-bebop

The ISSP is the police force that you know, does police stuff. As far as Spike and Vicious' past goes...I don't know. Nobody does. That's the problem.

Yeah, I kinda had an idea, and I just finished watching the movie, which unblurred the line a little.

Anyways, that's my Cowboy Bebop story.

Bebop is by and large one of my favorite all time series. May only be 26 eps, but some great quality eps at that.

Only 26? I prefer it at about that rate. After one or two seasons, the show starts to get stale, unless you've got a really really amazing and innovative idea. The fact that people were saying CB had too many filler episodes just goes to show that there shouldn't have been too many more.

FLCL had only 6 episodes. Saikano and Paranoia Agent have 13. They're still better than Dragon Ball Z by a longshot. It's always quality that beats quantity in anime.

I've already seen all the episodes after Adult Swim first came on. I thought it was pretty good at the time. One anime I still want to see is Hellsing and Toxic I envy you.

That is why when people ask me "What's your favorite Gunslinger anime?"

I will answer with "Trigun".

But yeah, now that you've seen Bebop and or finally liked it, go see Samurai Champloo, very similar in style ... except in feudal Japan with Samurai's.

Same director and everything.

I don't know, I mean yeah it's easily one of my favorite animes, but the best?

I guess I'm just more of a fan for a progressive anime that follows a strict storyline.

I'm not argueing Bebop is bad though.

One thing I really love about it, is the slick style, and the feeling and setting it gives off, especially with the music. Same with Champloo.

Currently though, Rahxephon is probably up there as my favorite anime.

If every anime followed a strict storyline wouldnt it get annoying? You can either like of dislike Bebop for its "stand alone" episodes, I personally like them.

As for Champloo, I saw the first epidoe and LOVED it. Unfortunatly I havnt gotten around to DLing any more.

Champloo was cool but it didn't mix in enough to make the blend of modern and medieval significant. Disappointing because I waited a year for it to come out on Japanese TV and then it wasn't all I hoped for.

Yeah before I watched it I thought it would be alot more Modern, but it turned out to be like Rurouni Kenshin with Break Dance Fighting, still cool but I would have liked it to mix more like Narutos Ninja World with the Modern World.
