| And so begins another adventure into the unkown... Everyone finds themselves in a forest. It looks like a perfectly ordinary forest. The portal is still open behind them. Schwa is about 10 feet ahead of everyone when they arrive. He's kneeling and being very still. He may even be in pain. There is a strange mystical presence here... It can be felt no matter who or where you are... No wildlife, except plants and trees, are visible. |

| Schwa continues to kneel still. "Guys, this is hard for me..." he whispers loud enough for them to hear. "I can sense the Good and Evil gridlock too heavily. It's paralyzing me. I... could get used to it, but it would take days. AAAUGH!!" Suddenly Schwa falls to the ground. "It's getting worse!" Some nearby bushes rustle slightly. Before anyone can react, a creature leaps out! It's-- extremely-- CUTE??? It's not harmful at all. Imagine a sky-blue, fairy-like creature with a teardrop-shaped head, two adorable eyes, tiny wings and a sphere floating above it's head. This creature is also no bigger than a basketball in mass. The creature looks at the group and says, "Chawwwww..." Schwa just lies there, shaking as if in a seizure. |

| Janus: *KAWAIIIIIII* ^_________^ Janus dashes over to the chao and hugs it the second he sees it, completely ignoring Schwa's comatose state. As soon as his fit of fanboyism is over, he suddenly notices his friend, rushing to his side and checking for vital signs... "Oh, jeez, I probably should have seen this coming. Chao are the one of the ultimate embodiments of light and dark energy, a near-perfect balance, and probably what's causing those gridlocks that have Schwa so messed up... Any tip in any direction can cause a cascade of good and evil to come rushing out. There's no way Schwa could stand this without some kind of reaction." The Chao looked inquisitively at Janus' bag... Satchel had interested it for some reason, and it was now pawing at the bag intently. Janus looked a little nervous. Chao had another ability... "Ah... Little buddy, can ya get away from that? Satchel's not for you, he's for me." The Chao suddenly made an attempt to open the bag, which Janus responded to by ripping the bag away and jumping behind Origin! "No! It's not yours!" The Chao seemed kind of saddened, and walked away dejectedly... Chao: "Chawwwwww...." A twinge of sadness struck Grey's heart for a second at his friend's treatment of the cute little creature, and he walked up to the thing and held it in his arms. Grey: "Aww... I'm sorry... Don't be so sad, little friend. Janus isn't a bad guy, he's just very posessive of his stuff. I think..." The Chao stopped crying, and looked at Grey admiringly. Janus: "Hrm, looks like you've made a friend. But what about Schwa? He's alive, but this thing is bound to be messing with his inner energies..." |

| "Thanks for NOTICING... *cough* ...Janus..." Schwa is no longer in a seizure but he holds his head, still floored. "I only have... one shot at this... Royal Ball..." (no echo effects, not loud enough, lol) Schwa holds his hand toward the Chao, and a sphere of blue, gel-like Oracle Energy starts forming in his hand. In 3 seconds it's complete. Schwa twiches a little and the Ball rolls to Detective Grey's feet. "Grey... Chao, touch, ball." And he faints. What in the world is Royal Ball? |

| OOC Origin isn't here Grey, so I'll assume you meant Dracoon... Dracoon's scanners were already going by the time he entered the portal. COMP: "High unbalance, multiple life forms, danger level unknown. Surviverablity for all those around... normal. Error... Schwa is different, effects may vary on him." Dracoon was about to help Schwa, but then Janus jumped behind him, making him hesitate, he hadn't been paying attention to what was going on and was now confused. Stacice on the other hand was try to see what was wrong with Schwa and if there was something she could do. Stacice: "Dracoon, what are you doing!?" Dracoon: "...?" Stacice: "Schwa's hurt, do you think you could help him, we at least have to get him out of here." Stacice didn't wait for any help and tried to lift Schwa up so he would be leaned against her shoulder. She looked around for an exit, hoping they could go back. |

OOC: Yeah, sorry 'bout that...  Grey looked, slightly puzzled, at the fainted fellow and his ball. He picked it up, and held it out to the Chao, who took it in its tiny, frustratingly cute hands and waved it around a little. Grey set the Chao on the ground, and it waved the ball around some more, rolling it along the ground and sniffing it. It bounced the ball a few times, and then looked up at Grey happily. Chao: "Chaaaaaa!"  |

Schwa is gaining a resistance to their presence as Royal Ball studies the Chao. But he's still in bad shape... "Put me down, chick..." he squeaks, slowly recovering. "Thanks, Detective..." |

| Stacice doesn't drop Schwa, she just holds him as Dracoon finally joins her. Dracoon grabbed Schwa and put him on his side, not even really noticing Stacice. Stacice: "Damn male arrogance... Part of honor is to know when it is hurting you." Stacice looked down at the Chao, wondering what the thing actually was. It was weird sight to her, and was kind of disgusting really. She stood up and looked around, hoping to see something of some importance. OOC Sorry Schwa, kinda forgot about it  |

| Grey: "Yeah, no problem, uh, Schwa...? Hm. I like this guy. He's pretty cool..." Grey patted his little buddy on the head. He decided, very much unlike Stacice, that he liked this little creature a lot. Instantly upon being touched by Grey, the Chao chattered happily. Chao: "Chaw chaw!" Grey squatted down at the playing chao and held his finger out to it in a poking motion. It looked at the finger inquisitively, and the little ball above its head turned into a large question mark. It sniffed Grey's finger, opened its mouth, and bit it! Grey: "OUCH!" He pulled his finger away, rubbed it, and scowled at the chao, who immediately donned a look of sadness. When he saw how sad the Chao was, Grey softened, and tried to pat it on the head again. The chao cried a little, and looked up at its new friend, who just laughed a little and smiled warmly. "Hey, now, don't cry... You didn't know. You can't eat stuff like that, it'll hurt someone else if you do. Let's see..." As Grey reached into his coat, Janus just sat and observed... Janus: "Interesting.... This thing seems really sensitive to the treatment it receives from others. I'd tell it to get some self esteem, but it'd make it too sad to even bother, I bet." The chao poked its head inside Grey's coat, rooting around alongside the detective and mimicking his actions. "It looks like it's getting pretty attached to Grey... Somehow I get the feeling he's not going to be leaving us any time soon. The best thing to do, if we don't want to send Schwa into another seizure, would probably be to treat it drastically in one direction, good or evil. That way, there's no chance of another gridlock, right?" Grey: "Aha!" His hand whipped from his coat, which flourished outward, revealing the chao inside it as plain as day. In his hand was a small, circular piece of food wrapped in cellophane. It looked like a sandwich, but was made with cake, the filling nothing but frosting... "The Convenience Store Moon Pie! Quite possibly the greatest snack food ever conceived!" Grey grinned, and so did the chao. He unwrapped the pie, placing the wrapper within one of his many coat pockets, and broke the pie into two equal halves. He had overheard Janus slightly... No reason why he couldn't get a head start. "See, this is called sharing... When you have something, you split it and give it to someone else, just because you're nice like that." He handed one half of the pie to the chao, and took the other in his other hand. He grinned. After the question mark appeared above its head again, and several seconds of consideration, so did the chao. He placed the moon pie in his mouth and bit into the sugary goodness. So did the chao. He tasted, and swallowed. So did the chao. The chao looked up at Grey, and squealed with delight. Sweet! Chao: "Cha Chaa!" Grey: "Ha ha!" And that, of course, sealed their friendship. | Schwa fully awakens. "Ah... Royal Ball worked. Thank the Oracles." He gets up off the ground, staring at the Chao. "Hmm... So these creatures are filled with Good AND Evil energy... But guys! That's impossible! Light and Dark can't be together... Good and Evil can't work together." Pause. "God, I hate going outside my home-dimmension. Anything goes. But still, Spiritual Physics should be the same no matter what dimmension you are in. This makes me a little uneasy..." Schwa suddenly perks up. "Alert! There are more Chao around. They don't seem to be affecting me as bad... Sensing their energy signatures, they don't seem to have such a strong gridlock as this one." Voices, like those of happy children, are heard in the distance... |

I won't be able to post for a good while. ____________________________________________________________________ Ex stared at Chao and smiled. Ex: "Schwa... it is normal that Chaos affect you badly... Chao are what you can call "Soul Elementals". They're beings of pure Soul Energy and can be molded into pretty much anything trought exposure to other conscious beings. If they run into good beings, they will turn into angels... into evil beings, they become demons... if they run into beings that are neither good or evil, they remain in their form." Ex approached the Chao. Ex: "Chao make great pets as well as good soldiers. As pure Soul energy, they're unnaffected by most of Evil's powers once they evolved into angels. Furthermore, their lack of a real, physical body makes them formidable. They may look like children... but a group of evolved Chao could even give ME a run for my money... and I mean, when I'm at full power! In short... yes, they are basically children... but take care of them well and they will become very valuable allies." Ex turned to Schwa. Ex: "There is both Good and Evil in every being, Schwa. Light and Darkness too. It's just common sense... it's just that since Chao are pure souls, it's MUCH easier to sense... a bit too much even. Furthermore... remember that Light and Good are not the same. Evil and Darkness aren't the same thing too. Darkness is more chaotic and "raw" than Light... but I'm pure Darkness and yet, I'm just as good as you are, Schwa!" Ex stepped backward. Ex: "Hmm... I can sense a strange Time Stream... I have to go... for now. I shall be back, however!" Ex suddenly faded out of existance for some strange reason... |

| Stacice poked one of the Chao. Stacice: "I don't really know what Ex was talking about... I can touch them, they have a body... Stacice poked the Chao again, but this time, it jumped at her and locked onto her face. Stacice: "..." Stacice reached up and grabbed the Chao. She pulled it off her face and let it hang in the air. A very mad look was on her face. Stacice: "I hate~~" Before she could finish the Chao started to cry. Stacice's angery vanished and she held the Chao close to her, trying to comfort it. Dracoon: "Life forms... So very... confusing." Dracoon looked over at Schwa. Dracoon: "We should find the cause of the grid lock, maybe we can end this quickly." |

| OOC: Just one Chao so far, but more are about to appear. Three more Chao are visible, having come from the bushes. They are much different-looking than the blue one, though... They're perfectly white, have small spheres attached to the tops of their heads, and a halo where their floating ball should've been. They approach the party. Schwa stares at them. "Hmm... These Chao are emitting a high amount of Holy energy. They appear to be Chao angels of some kind... Janus, do you know anything about these types?" Not surprisingly, the Hero Chao are interested in Janus. Janus has a thing for Chao, it seems... |
