Well maybe that's not exactly the case, but it's the same idea. Whenever I print something, 90% of the time it comes out completely blank. The head moves around like normal but nothing comes out. I would think it's out of ink, but it printed something else just fine before. I tried to print two things a few days ago and one came out alright while the other was blank. Today I printed the first page of a document to test it, and it worked, so I tried to print the whole thing and it just keeps coming out blank. Just seemed to come up out of the blue. Any ideas? I've got to get this thing printed by April. (It's an HP Apollo P2200; not the best on the market but it does the job - or at least it used to.) It's not just one program either; the same happens with Textpad, Mozilla/Firefox and the XP test page. (The troubleshooter is, as usual, not helpful, and it's difficult for it to be when Explorer crashes at random when changing the printer settings. )

Reset printer configuration in the driver (status monitor in the system tray) to factory settings.
If that doesn't help, reinstall the printer drivers.
Also ensure you enabled bidirectional mode for the printer.

I'll try that... The problem actually seems to be related to the printer itself though. I'm not sure exactly why, but the first thing I print comes out fine (though a bit grainy), but after that everything comes out blank. I'm not sure if it's turning the printer off that fixes it, or just leaving it for a while, since I generally turn it off when I'm done and don't really print much.

Well, I connected a fourteen year old laser printer to my machine (drivers for Win 3.1, though XP even has system-drivers for that machine ), it works but cannot handle landscape prints.
There is no fix, so I will getting a new model soon.

What I want to say is, that this should not be. I used some printers, and usually there is an option to seperate multiple documents with a blank sheet between each print sometimes.
But when a blank sheet comes out of the printer when a normal print job is sent, this must not be a blank print

You also could try the printer on another machine first, if possible.
Installing printer drivers doesn't take too much time.
If it throws out a blank sheet of paper even with default settings (which they are on another machine indeed), there is a mechanical defect - or the nozzles are closed.
Ink from inkjet printers anyway should be printed out anyway not too slow. Leave an inkjet several weeeks unused and then ozzles are sticked together

- Is the cartridge the original one ?
- Did you re-ink the cartridge ?
- When did you re-ink/buy the cartridge ?

It is a bit low on ink, but if it was able to print 5 pages a while ago, there's no reason it shouldn't have been able to do one the day before, especially after doing another one fine just before that.
