lol yeah I made that same point to Acmlm on IRC I mean... if a persons' post is being DELETED then why should they continue to recieve a credit for a post... that is obviously being DELETED for a reason |

Unless Milly likes to keep tabs on all posts, spammers or not. I like the idea, actually and it shouldn't be that hard to add, right? |

Heh, yeah. I noticed this bug the last summer, I made an double post by mistake. When I deleted the other post the post count didn't decrease. I didn't "cheat" in this way thought . It's so noticable when somebody have alot of deleted posts. It isn't hard to add, really. An PHP programmer newbie could add that with ease. |

Since a high post count is needed to get a custom title... *hacked account* *is desperate* *deletes all of the person's posts, one by one* *no custom title* Which is bad. (edited by Luigi on 03-28-04 01:25 PM) |

It should be done, yeah ... If someone for example really wants his/her custom title, he or she probably posts some crappy posts, deletes them and repeats this; cheating all the way As for deleted users (a little off topic ^^), they should be kept. If someone tried to hack the board, this is at least the evidence if handing the information over to the police or such |

If it were up to me (and I knew how) I'd have a separate field for # of deleted posts. The post counters in the sidebar would remain as posts/total, but the profile could display it as posts+deleted/total (# deleted). | |||

There was originally, in a user's profile: X posts (Y posts found) X = post count, Y = posts found, ovbiously. Why it was removed I will never know. |

Just to let you guys know, i got into a fight with a formal acmlm member, a day after he apologized and crap...i asked him how aliur (sorry if i spelt it wrong) gets so many posts and he said he uses the posting cheat so i asked him how to do it and he told me to keep making a post and deleting it, i asked him if it was allowed and he said yes that's how most people get so many posts so fast....sadly i believed him....anyway i was only a week old on acmlms (before the deletion) and i didn't really know much, so technically I'm still a no0b...I'm very sorry if this has caused any inconvenience i earned that punishment and believe that it was completely appropriate for what i did.. but anyway lets get back on topic, i think this would be a bad idea...meaning..im sure acmlm doesent want a shit load of threads on his forum so he will eventually delete a bunch, if he does that that would lower our post counts... |

Originally posted by X It's still possible to get that information by going here (that's the Active Users page with an insanely long timeframe)...the "Posts" column is the actual number of posts, while the "Total" column is the post count in the profile...you can see that almost all the counts are identical, or only off by a few posts. I remember looking at that on the old board...my counts differed by about five posts, and I had over 3000 posts total...most people with reasonably high posts counts had huge discrepancies... |

it was removed on the old board because of the posts being lost in the database a few times so it makes sense to not update the users post count with the ACTUAL posts in the database but this problem is prevented all together if you just SUBTRACT WHEN POSTS ARE DELETED...... |

phpBBs and other board systems base the max number of posts really on the thread made. So if you deleted for exaple ten forums at once using the ModCP, the post counter also gets affectede as when you delete your last post. If it did not used to much bandwith, maybe the counter simply could be calculated from the current number of posts. This is similar what Erk just posted above me (edited by Gandalf The Grey on 03-31-04 01:30 PM) |

pardox don't be stupid even if it wasn't "against" the rules don't waste my bandwidth and CPU cycles doing stuipd shit.... that's common sense..... and it is a gainst the rules which should also be common sense why shoudl your post count reflect a higher number of posts than you ACTUALLY HAVE.... |
