I've had 3 boards, all have ended up being fucked over. Xeogaming, twice. It's not even worth it. What the fuck am I doing. What the fuck happened to me. Don't ANYONE fucking give me: A) "I'm sorry for you" bullshit. And ESPECIALLY B) Should have had a secure board. My answer - Why don't you get a fucking life? I had recently fixed up several things, with multiple help, from even JESPER himself, but I guess it just wasn't enough, and it's just a fucking blast, to fuck peoples boards up. C) So, put a backup up? PMA never worked correctly for me for backing up files, whenever it was switched to my own FTP and setup. Seriously, whoever the fuck you are, Fuck you. | My relations with people at Antireality weren't nearly as good as with people at XG - specifically, I strongly disliked ~80% of the staff there, to say nothing of the normal users. However, the people at AR overlook the fact that I had told Xk (let's face it, EVERYONE knows it was him by now) to back off about a week before the post wipe occured. Ah well, doesn't really matter anyway. Shit happens, and people look for scapegoats. Edit: Thanks to someone unbanning me, I've had the opportunity to defend myself there. | And another Acmlm Board gets 'hacked', or more like, being fucked over by using one of the many security holes that are SO known. Don't know about you people, but heck, I wouldn't want to be using software of which I know it posesses security holes. And Xeogred, sucks what happened, and I can tell your forums meant a lot to you, though, the #1 rule for webmasters: backups. Can't stress that enough for anyone. Only few people seem to be making backups of their boards; a shame. Oh yeah, seems like you still haven't figured out who actually did this. Not that I know either, but I bet it's either one of the same 'couple' that seems to be making a hobby out of this. | Thank you Narf for your input, and care for this matter, and excuse my current immaturity. If anyone is willing to help ... with anything, let me know. The thing that pisses me off the most, and as I've already clearly said on my board, is that "What's it's worth? Sooner or later, there'll be another exploit". Hell, I fixed several things in editprofile.php, with the help of many people, Jesper, Xkeeper, DarkSlaya, Ice Man, and others, and STILL, somehow, someone just managed to slip by, make themself an admin, and have the pathetic self esteem to go around and delete the 1,000+ threads and 30,000+ posts on my board ... I guess, other Acmlmboard owners, can take this thread as a warning. Again, SEVERAL help from, not one, but multiple people, and someone still fucking got around security and fixes ... Right now I'm getting even more help, someone even found the issue. It's just pathetic that people would go to such level. ARE YOU SATISFIED? YES, I'm in fucking rage bitch. You succeeded! Whoop, there goes 1000 threads and 30000 posts on my board, Good, fucking, job. Edit: Randy no offense, but I didn't even HINT at the fact that I believed it was you ... | There'll always be exploits in software, I doubt something like perfectly secured software exists, there's always a way to fuck it up, not necesarily through the actual (in this case, PHP) script itself. Though, like I said, the best defense against it is backing up frequently. There were people that tried (and once, unfortunately succeeded) to just break my site. I found out who it was thanks to the fact I log every single action performed on my site, reported the lamer, imported my backup, fixed the security hole and voila, lamer got into trouble and I'm one exploit further. |

| For those wondering, this ain't me. I went through this bullshit suspicion before antireality was hosed. I'll throw in the same information I threw at Tamarin Calanis, the ip address is teh same and unless you happen to be a hacker god, you can't steal that. If you could assimilate any ip address, internet security would go to shit. If it isn't Tamarin Calanis who did this, it's probably some neighborhood kid since he's running an unsecured wireless router. Proxies will only let you get the ip of the server they are running on so Tamarin Calanis may have a proxy on his system from some trojan or something. I do know someone tried to frame me by giving me max stats and rank on antireality which annoyed me. I did assume it was Xkeeper who did this, but Xkeeper doesn't tend to hide himself and he denied it when I asked him about what happened to me. I thought they fixed this shit in 1.92. I'm suffering through the aftereffects of lots o' Jolt Cola so this post will probably suck in grammar. |
