Wouldnt this be awesome? If there was like every Apogee game ever made on one GCN cd? That would be pretty cool. (Or if GCN is not your thing, one for PS2, and one for XBox)

I'd buy it. I know that for sure.

Some mod or admin. Edit the thread title to something like "There should be an Apogee Collection for GCN."

Title Edit: Done.

This isn't the first time he's done it either, but "Falsely getting people's hopes up" isn't really a warnable offense if you ask me.

That really isn't necessary... You can fit 100 characters, you may as well make use of them.

It's not a good way to be liked though.

On topic... Why not just release collections of all the Apogee (and by that token, Epic) games on a single CD-ROM for the PC? Price it at something like $15-20 (instead of paying that much for one game) and people will pounce on it.

Of course, all the games you would want are easily located online now.

Because there wouldnt be any compatibility issues if it were for all the latest systems. Windows XP is annoying when it comes to DOS stuff. Plus more people would see it if it was for the new systems.

Then put some effort into creating a good DOSBox-like environment to play the games in. Problem solved.

An Apogee collection for consoles wouldn't work since it's more of a PC thing.

I'd actually perfer it on the portables.

Keen 1-6, Duke Nukem 1-2, Cosmo, Bio-Hazard and a bunch of other oldschool games on one GBA/DS cartridge = UNF

Ah, I remember all these games. I have an old Pentium specifically for playing these.

I'd just be happy if I could find all of the games I used to have. I can't find the second Duke Nukem (or Duke Nukum as it was called back then), and a few other things....

I miss some of the stuff that Software Creations published too, and Epic Megagames, some of the stuff by Adept....

so sad I can't find all of it on the Underdogs.

P2P networks are usually a godsend for old shareware stuff, Taryn.

To clarify the Nukem/Nukum confusion from 3D Realms themselves:

There is frequently a great deal of confusion over the correct spelling of one of Apogee's most prized characters, Duke Nukem. The original spelling for the name was "Duke Nukem"; however, during the code fix stage between v1.0 and v2.0 of the original game, Apogee found a character overseas named "Duke Nukem" that was thought to be copyrighted. So, for v2.0 of the original Duke game, the name was changed to "Duke Nukum." Then, during the programming of the next Duke Nukem game (Duke Nukem II), it was discovered that the character they found overseas was not copyrighted after all -- and so the original name was reinstated. "Duke Nukem" is also the spelling used in all successive games that featured the character.

Yeah, I know that the new ones are called Nukem. My version of the original game says "Nukum" though

I think I've even read that from 3D Realms. Whilst wondering if IT is done yet... lol
