The other day I started using yy-chr to change some of the standard SMW graphics for my hack. I've got the basic stuff down, but have a few questions now...

* One thing I've changed is the Bony Beetle sprite, but I can't seem to locate the "crumbling" graphics for when Mario jumps on one and crushes it. Could anyone point out where (at least approximately) I can find them? (Assuming that I can get to them from yy-chr, which I figure might not necessarily be the case v_v)

* This one would also probably make the first problem easier to manage...I haven't been able to load the right palette from a savestate, so I've been working with the weird colors yy-chr gave me. I load the AllGFX file in yy-chr, select a ZSNES savestate that has the desired graphics onscreen, load that in yy-chr, and get different colors that are still wrong. Is it my fault, or am I trying to do something I shouldn't even be doing?

Thanks in advance for any help I can get...

Not to sure about the "crumbling" graphics (I know they are editable, but I dont have YY-chr here with me so I can't check), but if you open up LM and a level that contains the bony beetle, open the 8x8 editor and press the down arrow (keyboard) until you see the bony beetle graphics. Now just search that one page for the crumbling graphics. They WILL be there.

Now for the correct palette, open up the correct ZSNES savestate (do the process that you have been doing the entire time). Now over on the bottom right side of the YY-chr window, there is a grid (4 rows by 16 coloums) with two arrows on the right side. Pressing them changes the palette. Now most likely (almost always) you wont beable to have every sprite that was on the screen have the correct palette. Like say you had a blue koopa, and a yellow koopa, you can't display both their palettes at the same time. Now just go down the screen of graphics in YY-chr until you find the sprites you want to have the correct palette, and change the palette using the arrows I talked about before.

Its alot easier than how it sounds believe me. And once you get the hang of it, you can pretty much do it without thinking. Have fun and please post if you need more help or dont understand something. But dont spam useless questions, and make sure you always check previous threads.

That helped, thanks a lot. I'm hoping to post some shots of my changes soon to get some opinions...
