I love surprises .. especially when exiting in a room consisting of diagonal blue and white ledges, where 8 of 9 squares are rotating, each containing a mushroom, flower or star

As for the hack, the screens look promising, except that long bridge even the unaltered overworld is okay
I'll download this later since I'm running a major download (The 66 MBs of OpenOffice take a while w/ ISDN ) now

Is it a joke or something?
When applied to a raw ROM (513 KB in size), it hangs after the glitched stuff that should be the Nintendo sign.
When applied to DW3, it starts, but perfectly any piece of graphics consists of vertical, colourful stripes, while it seems to behave as usual.

I patched it to both, it does the same thing (crashes ZSNES after glitched nintendo sign) but to be fair when patched to DW3 it takes a longer time for it to crash ZSNES. In fact, the only time it didn't immediately crash was when I patched it to a blank text document. It didn't even bring up a screen, but hey, it didn't crash.

The long bridge is odd. Perhaps it's the lack of details on it, or that it's baffling how that thing isn't falling over with limited supports...

Other than that, I like most of the overworld design. Most of the levels are decent.

I'll second the O_o

What could cause an IPS to do this? In case it matters, first you hear the nintendo sound, then you hear the beginning of the SMB3 water level music and the "time is running out" noise and the SMB3 "mario death" SFX. Once again, O_o

I patch to DW3, and just get a random mix of SFX... sometimes crashing ZSNES...

Which SMW rom did you use?
You must use V. 1.0 not 1.1
And when will you update it, because i like to play it but it crashes on my ZSNES, too.

maybe someone should make an IPS that turns 1.0 to 1.1 and one that turns 1.1 to 1.0?

You could, but that's pretty useless seeing how any good ROM site should have both.

A new patch is out.

If it's like the last one, there's a problem. O_o

It still screws up at the "nintendo presents" intro.
Maybe you should get a diffrent IPS maker...

I heard the M3 Game Over sound, mixed in with a lot of other SFX. I think I heard the M3 Fortress in one crash... We all crash differently

The patch log from LIPS is full of SE! entries. SE stands for Security Erase... I put it in as a small precaution for applying a patch to the wrong file (or a wrong patch for the right file, if you want to think of it that way). It ensures that someone doesn't end up with bits of old erased files from their hard drive in their patched ROM due to a patch not explicitly specifying what to put in an expanded area of a file before specifying what to put beyond it. While entries like that can show up if the addresses in the IPS aren't in order (which the IPS format allows, hence why a warning isn't displayed during patching), in this case it appears to indicate that you're not using the original ROM to create a patch.

Just going by where the SE entries are, I'd guess the ROM you're using as the "original" is actually about 2 MB in size.
