HERE IT IS!!!

"Think This Is Bad?"

"World 1-1'ish"

"Plain Thrills"

"Lake of Fear"

"1"

Please keep the flamming low. I know how the backrounds suck, lol. The only one that I feel is the best is the Plain Thrills backround, that came out the best, which of course, everyone knows where that one came from. Thanks for looking. Once I figure out how to link the ips here, I will. Ok, I can't figure out how to get my zipped ips up here :-( what do i do? :-)

Screen 1- Those sure are a lot of bullet machines. Do they all have bullets in them, because that would probably slow the game down. You probably should not leave bullet machines in mid-air also.

Screen 2- SMB1 1-1 remake, been there, done that. This one doesn't especially stand out. And a winged cheep cheep is odd...

Screen 3- Ouch! The BG needs a serious palette fix.

Screen 4- Weird BG. What is that supposed to be back there?

Screen 5- Nothing special about this one.

The screens itself looks kinda junky (,no offense). The background that I know you can do better on is:

It really isn't the background itself. It's more like the palette though. This screen right here looks the most junky out of all:

I woulden't say that your hack is bad or anything. I'd just say that there needs to be a little bit of corrections.

Screen 1- I wanted to go bizzare with this level. Not all of them shot bullet bills. This level is EXTREMELY difficult I must warn you, but the rest are no where near as ridiculous as this one.

Screen 2- My absolute first attempt to redo 1-1. I can do it better, but I've been running into graphical problems, if you notice my previous posts throughout the months. And the cheep-cheep was an experimental thing.

Screen 3- This here is my prime example of how I'm confused about ripping a backround, and not having the same colors inserted, but this situation has been almost resolved in one of my previous posts.

Screen 4- This backround, *sigh* since I had no idea on how to create one at the time, I used one of the smb3 level graphics, and tried to create some kind of original backround for this level.

Screen 5- Very true as to what you said. But the level I feel is pretty creative in certain spots.

Thank You for your observation!! I appreciate it, because this is my first post of my first creation!

But how can I get my ips up here, cause I really want to hear your guys's responses on my level designs!

The only option I know that would really work for hosting your IPS right now without having to sign up for anything is YouSendIt. Of course, last time someone uploaded their patch there, a couple people had trouble downloading it, but that may be because of the file storage time limits or something I know quite a few people used to use FreeWebs to host their hack patches, but as of lately, it appears that they don't allow offsite linking to stored files, so you'll have to explicitly tell people that they need to go to your site first to download it if you go with that method

Now, even though two people have already commented on the screenshots, I might as well throw in my two cents as well

Screenshot 1 I honestly don't see what could be so hard about that part of the level All you have to do is stay on the highest possible bullet shooter. I may be jumping to conclusions though. Hopefully other parts of the level test how good you really are in that sort of situation.

Screenshot 2 As Golden Yoshi said, it looks pretty bland, as it is just a remake of the first bit of level 1-1 in the original Mario game. That cheep-cheep does look pretty odd though, and not in a bad way Sure, it might not be the best enemy of choice for a level like that, but hopefully it appears elsewhere in the game.

Screenshot 3 The background sort of looks like you took a picture of the original one, then put the negative of it in your level It's good to hear that your problem's been resolved though. Other than that, there's nothing too spectacular or amazing here.

Screenshot 4 Out of all the pictures, this one looks the most interesting. The only weird thing I see, is with the white platforms with the green tops; the three of them. On the top of them, the green fades to white on the right hand side It's not as noticeable on the middle / tallest one, as it's against the background, which is light itself, but on the left one, it really stands out as it's placed against that dark hill.

Screenshot 5 Like the third screen, there's nothing that really stands out here. I don't know if it was used in the original game or not, but having the background what it is looks quite good. I've played through far too many castles where they all take place inside, or at least that's the illusion the background gives.

Looking good, and hopefully you're able to find some place to upload your IPS soon

The "Think This Is Bad" level, just about sums up why they invented the very popular game save. But, this level can be completed without the need of game saves, but that being said, tells you the difficulty of that level alone. It's a mixture of everything. I made sure you have to know every type of keen mario movement, / movement tricks possible. The rest of the game I feel is quite enjoyable, with bizzare things in some areas, creative custom level designs, and some small puzzles to figure out. Good Luck Kario!

Right. I downloaded your IPS and applied it to a copy of the original ROM, and it wouldn't load in ZSNES. I tried expanding it to various different sizes with Lunar Expand, and everything after 8Mbit (1MB) would yield the same results. The game loads fine, but I highly doubt it's supposed to look like it does.

Here's a screenshot of the title screen, which, oddly enough looks like it says 'Super Loud World' The other screenshot, which you can see here, is what I got after I picked a slot to save in on the title screen.

I realize it wasn't your intent to have your hack look like it does in those screenshots, so hopefully you don't think I'm trying to blame you Try applying your patch to a fresh copy of the ROM, and see if it works on your computer. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, but I don't think I am

Now I'm finally able to play it, so I'll play the levels and comment on each individually

Think This is Bad??: I didn't find this level overly hard, but the invisible until hit note blocks really add a challenge by getting in your way at difficult parts As for things you should probably change, the climbing nets at the beginning should consist of the 4 corners of the net, if you only want them to be 2 blocks wide and high. Also, the blocks of water you have to swim through to get to one of the Dragon Coins looks kind of sloppy If you can find anything to surround it with, so that it at least looks like it's contained in something, and it doesn't interfere with making the coin somewhat difficult to get to, then you should change it. When you go down the pipe, the foreground of the area looks alright, but the background needs some work, mostly with palettes. It pretty much clashes with the stuff that Mario can interact with.

Yellow Switch: Nothing to really comment on here, as it's obviously the same as the original level. Do you plan on changing it at all?

World 1-1'ish: What purpose do the blocks that change what powerup Mario has near the beginning of the level serve? I found it quite weird to just run to the right as small Mario, suddenly become big, then become Fire Mario, get a Cape, then turn small again The only other real problem I can see here is where you have the message box underneath the rope platform, and the fireballs jumping up underneath it. They're glitchy, probably due to the tileset you have selected for the level or something, so if you can find a way to fix it, it would probably be in your best interest.

The Living Forest: I don't know if you even intended for this level to be accessible in the demo, because I found it completely by accident, and it's also no different than one of the levels in the original SMW.

Plain Thrills: I see what you mean about the problems with the background Hopefully you're able to have that fixed for the next release though. I notice there's a shortage of coins / cherries up 'till where you come to the trees, so it would probably be a good idea to put some throughout the rest of the levels, especially where you have to make an almost blind jump to a platform. After you come out of the underground area, the top-left bit of the pipe is glitched up as well.

Lake of Fear: The background in this level is quite confusing / cluttered. I'd suggest moving the bottom part up to the top half of the level, and then have the background of the bottom part as some bushes or something. Also, it might not be a bad idea to make the player have to alternate between swimming in the water on the bottom half of the level, and running / jumping along the top. The upper half doesn't really serve any purpose that I could see, so that's why I suggested that.

1 What a unique name As soon as you enter the level, there's the stairs of sorts that lead down, and you need to put tile 1E4 that's on the second page of the Direct Map16 access tiles in the inside corners where each of the corner tiles meet. After you go through the door at the end of the first area, the cloud you eventually come across has a strip of black that I would assume to be it's eye, although it would seem that you don't want anything to be on it at all. To finish up the comments, I think it'd look better to just have two more brown blocks under the boss door at the end, as the platform that's there right now looks awkward with the bottom cut off.

Those are all the issues that I came across. There wasn't anything game-breaking, which is always good, and I enjoyed playing this demo

Commenting on the pics...

1: Lotta bullet machines. They really don't look so good floating.
2: Looks good, the fish is just though.
3: Best background ever, but the palettes are all wrong.
4: Looks really crowded. I wouldn't be surprised to see some slowdown, even.
5: Nice. The clouds and sky in the BG are an awesome idea.
