Posted by TaraleReally? There's actualy a lot of really straight-forward music software out there I use Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 (because all versions proceding this have a horrible GUI, imho) for 99% of my composing, its very simple and fun to fool with when you're just getting started. There's even simpler programs similar to that with less functionality that just about anyone can pick up. Its good to have at least a basic idea of some music fundamentals, though that's not really a prerequesite (it just helps in the long run) |

Brass and wind instruments are of the few I've yet to really break in to. I think the whole alternate tuning thing would throw me off ;x Trumpet is a Bb instrument, right? Yeah, I have a hard enough time remembering what I'm supposed to transpose when I'm WRITING a trumpet part, let alone playing off one |

Reminds me of something from an RPG, like a dungeon theme. I really like this its cool stuff. I can't seem to find anything wrong with it, though maybe I'll give it another listen and see if I can offer some critique (I know you didn't ask for any but ;x its something to do, plus I like this stuff). Keep up the good work |

F9 is a pitch slide, it takes 3 arguments: the amount to transpose by (or was it the note to transpose to? I never used this much myself), the speed (works similar to the argument of the same nature in command E3, vibrato), and the note being transposed from.
So basically, its a 3 byte argument. F9 tt ss nn hope that helps ;x (again, I rarely if ever use that command so I only know the jist of it, that sould help you play with it more though) |

Not really, you know. Most of these "popular" artists these days...you know like Britney Spears and other people I don't really care enough about to remember, look at the inserts on the inside of their CDs. You'll see other people credited to have wrote prety much every song there. Its not too uncommong for an artist to just sing or perform a song they didn't write. And being someone who writes music themself, I always told myself that if I ever decided to persu performance towards a professional level that I would always want to write my own stuff, it seems more your own style that way, I guess. Which is kinda why I idolize them in that regard, they don't just play whats put in front of them but take the time to come up with their own stuff the majority of the time. |

Certain strings will be harder to play than others, though some strings are designed for different playing styles. Figure the strings that feel looser and are easier to push and move around are more ideal for pulling off bends and pulls, where as a more taught string will have a different, I guess more "firm" sound. It really depends on your preference and what sound you want, as well as what you are comfortable with. |

Sorry for the double post, I was just playing with the command and I realized how horrible my own notes are yeah, the second argument seems to be the amount of tics it lasts for, the third argument is the note to slide to, and the FIRST argument works similar to the first argument of command 0xE3.
Wow. Yeah, there you go |

Sure you can, if you have a whamy bar. Thats about as close as you'll get, and that'd be for an electric guitar only. Whammy bars are pretty sick though, I must say. You can do some pretty complex and interesting things when you combine one with a compressor and distortion...oh I should probably mention they are typically used in rock and metal but
As far as tuning goes, I never have a huge problem with it myself. I have what I believe is called perfect pitch, and apparently that makes me capable of not having to use the aid of electronic tuners among other things. Its also a good way for people to kill time when they play a series of notes to try and stump me, only to have me identify each of them spot on |

Well you know if you get new strings you can adjust to your heart's desire. The ones that came with it, being a 20 dollar guitar, probably aren't that great ;x you can get some decent strings for as little as 5 or 6 bucks these days. Might just be all you need. |

No but seriously. I kill boredom through music. Listening to it or playing it. Lately I've also been turning to my DS for entertainment. |

I think I can take your word for it as I would figure a 20 dollar guitar probably isn't really on par in build with even some of the cheaper guitars on the spectrum (90-100 dollar range) so you know, I would imagine the neck to be alittle out of whack. They have adjustability in all of that in most higher priced models I believe, but yeah. You know, so long as it plays. The thing that matters about any instrument is whether or not the player is comfortable with it, not who spends the most money on it |

Never was "caught" per sey, though once when I was maybe 12, after doing the deed I unbirghtly threw on a pair of boxers which, of course, did ittle to hide the fact that I was pitching a tent. Needless to say it was pretty obvious what I had been up to despite nobody verbally confronting me on it And yes, looking back on it, I feel stupid. Oh well. We all do stupid things in our lives. |

You can play electric guitars at low volumes you know really won't disturb anyone unless your amp goes past 11 (....that was a shameless reference and anyone who gets it wins several cookies)
Electic guitar music isn't so much "harder" than acoustic is, both are particular technical in their own ways and there's going to be simple and challenging stuff for each style. I suggest just going with what you like and after fooling around, what you feel comfortable doing. You can still play acoustic music on an electric guitar, so its kinda a win-win in that case |
