They're not hardcoded, look in the NPC's event and see if NPC #s correspond.

Try changing the partition # to the same as the level where the treasure was moved from.

Thanks for the report. The first bug has now been fixed. For the second bug, do you mean selecting something in the list of sequences or selecting tiles in the image? If the former, then it's also been fixed.

Did you try resetting the settings? Click the grey cog icon in the main window and click "Default".

On what channels are the sounds that are being muted in your song? Sound effects use the last two channels.

Darkkefka: thanks for the report, I've fixed the bugs
AlveinHero: I'll add the option to load any ROM, but beware saving text or fonts

Hanto:
Tell me something specific you actually did that caused this to happen. Also, try resetting the settings: click the cog icon in the main window and click "Default".

Does this problem only happen in the levels window? I can't seem to reproduce this problem. When I make a selection in the levels window the program's memory hovers around 145MB, never getting above 155MB. I can't think of any reason it would hit 1.7GB other than a possible memory leak. Did you reset the settings?

Thanks EPS. I imported the file you linked but didn't notice any of the problems you described. Which rests are importing as notes? Also, which MML instruction is reverb?

Thanks for the details, I was able to find the problem and fix it. As for the reverb thing, I'll probably just add a checkbox like you suggested.

You must insert a "Percussion mode on" command before the start of the percussive notes.

I could do this for future releases, but users could simply use older versions that have no such restrictions to modify hacks. Also, the program is open source and the user could modify the code to remove any password protection features. So ultimately there's not much point to adding such a feature, sorry.

From the help database:

An "overlap" is an object that hides NPCs under all layers.

P3 for object on edge
Mario or any NPCs on top of the tile's edges will overlap all other map layers.

P3 for object over edge
Mario or any NPCs above the tile's edges will overlap all map layers.

P3 for object on tile
Mario or any NPCs on the surface of the tile will overlap all map layers.

Darkkefka: colors are reduced to 16 so images with more than 16 colors will be changed from the original after importing

Niamek: I don't know, the game developers made them this way

Some paint programs have a "reduce color depth" feature and other options you can use to reduce to 15 colors.

Thanks to everyone for the bug reports and feedback. The new web page designs were part of an attempt to modernize/standardize the appearance and code. I had v4.0 of LS about 75% done earlier in the year, but got caught up in other things. I haven't had time to work on it or fix bugs lately, but maybe I'll release it by the end of the year. It will include a new design and a lot less clutter, plus dockable windows.

I haven't been able to work on the editor since last August, but here is a (very buggy) beta version of LAZY SHELL v4.0 (source). There's still quite a few bugs in this version, since I've been too busy the last year to fix them. You can try it out if you wish, but don't expect a final version to be released any time soon (if ever at all), since I don't have time anymore to work on it.

I've put 100's of hours into this editor since I first started working on it in 2008, and until last year it's what I've primarily spent my time on. I know it's far from perfect and has always had problems (see the posts right above, for example). Nevertheless, I hope people can still make use of it or at least enjoy playing around with it for fun and whatnot. It's come a long way and it's largely because of your bug reports and feedback that have pushed it to reach the level it is today. Without the (relatively small but dedicated) user base LAZY SHELL has acquired over the years it would never have made it past v1.0.

Thanks to everyone for their support.
