I'm just fine.... how are you?
Though I know it sounds bad, I can't remember what you were known for Blades, other than maybe being an admin or a moderator? Having only being around since 2003, that tends to happen. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

Invoking hyper bump to say that I only now do I miss Post Radar. I never thought I'd say that.... and the ability to rate other users with a number was awesome. But it would be better to have a larger range of numbers to rate with :| ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

Perhaps you could post more of the trace log to have some proper context?
Also, if it is in fact LoROM, don't forget that it's possible to execute code from the work RAM (WRAM), that is, bank $7E and bank $7F. Execution of code in RAM is not unknown among SNES games. FFVI in particular I know uses it. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

Posted by DiscoPeach That is your whole misconception and therefore problem. Generally speaking to see changes in a savestate that existed before the ROM was edited you need to get the game to reload the data from ROM (either by playing the game a certain way, or doing some sort of of RAM manipulation / cheat code to cause that to happen. In your case, save + quit and then reloading the save game file from within the game (not a savestate) *should* work, iirc. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

Since my dad is a numismatist (coin collector and enthusiast), I made him a SMB style question block with a coin sticking out of it. If I get a chance I'll take a picture.
The box looks similar to this: and the coin looks similar to this: For Mother's Day I made my mom a potted Fire Flower. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

Hyrule Magic uses a limited amount of space for all the dungeon room headers. You've met the limitation of that space. The only thing you can really do is reduce the amount of information that other headers use. You can do this by using the arrow buttons on the header dialog to get rid of things like extra room destinations via doors (3/4) and such. But you will have to eliminate some data to make room for the data you want to use. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

All of the dungeon rooms have a header. In some cases, though, they share headers. By making rooms not share headers, you eat up available space. The only way to get it back is either to 1. make two or more rooms have identical headers or 2. take an existing room and decrease the amount of information shown for it in the header dialog.
As shown in this picture simply click the circled button to reduce the amount of data in a room header by one byte. Once all the edit controls disappear, the header is down to the minimum size of 7 bytes. The max size is 14, with all 5 of the edit controls showing. Basically what is happening is that your room is grabbing data from another room header that immediately follows it in the data. Or it's just corrupt (possible given that we're talking abuot HM here.) ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

1. if the block set is being set in the "entrance" portion of the dialog window, I'm pretty sure at least one version of Hyrule Magic doesn't save that properly.
2. blockset and palette are also a part of the dungeon header (though that may not be apparent to you.) If you were having header issues before this is probably just an extension of that. 3. You're probably using the wrong staircase object type. Either that or it's something weird going on with the tiles you placed on the lower layer. As always, take a look at existing rooms that are similar to what you want to do, write down the object numbers they use, then use those in your new room. 4. Shouldn't you just have one thread for all these questions? I'm sure people are getting annoyed at all these different threads. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

Jeez SePH, that was a really thorough rundown...
http://math.arc-nova.org/HMagic_v963.zip Btw, this version has some slight mods I added so take care not to use the menu items "Port" and "Duplicate Room" as I cannot verify how well they work at this time. They were mods that were done at least 3 years ago and I have not reviewed the code. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |
