I use XVI32 for everything, but I'd heard that WindHex32 is pretty good too.

Um... I wouldn't guess that roms of that era are going to have text encoded as ascii. My guess is that hexposure has built in table files and relative searching? By the way, I gather that hexposure is DOS only, so I'd just download DOSBox, since it might be the fastest way to get what you want.

Yeah, we get it. It's still a stupid name and it's not easy to say. Say it 10 times fast: "trans hex lation"

Welcome to using Hyrule Magic. Just avoid those areas for now.

Well I'm trying to write an overworld editor at the moment. I never know how long these things will take me. In the meantime you should look for SePH / Orochimaru's perfect guide to Hyrule Magic. It's full of lots of information that can help you work around the limitations of Hyrule Magic. Some things weren't even meant to be done with an editor anyway (like removing the rain overlay from the start of the game and the thunder sfx. removing those requires a bit of hex editing and possibly changing of code too)

If you don't like megaman hacking, fuck off and go somewhere else. No one forces you to read threads about games you don't like.

I could just as easily bitch about SMB1 or SMB in general at the current moment flooding the front of the forum.

*wonders what you're talking about as far as skeleton code goes*

If it means what I think it means you may have more to do than you think.

Why would you think it's the hacks themselves if it happens for several of them? I'm no SMB expert but from what I've seen on these forums the problem you have is that your ROM is not a very good dump. Try finding a better one.

It's... an extreme close up of a pine cone. So what?

It's also the most ominous picture of a pine cone I've ever seen. The white/grey and reddish shapes make it look like hundreds of beastly eyes.

...

though this thread was mostly created to screw with roxahris.

You can blame Woolsey for that one. How do you screw up pine cone with fire?

You can barely get me to eat at KFC and I *live* in America . At least the mashed potatoes are decent.

Yeah editing in map16 is one of the goals and I think I've got it figured out I just need to do a bit more work to get it running. Hell, editing in 8x8 might be feasible too though that's getting down pretty small and iirc most 8x8 tiles on the OW are only used in a 16x16 tile anyway.

Just out of curiosity are you *saving* after you do these edits? As in, edit an area, save the rom. Close the rom completely, then repoen it and it still happens? If so, then that's a pretty dumb bug :/.

Oh man... *cough*

First of all, never seen a McDonald's that even had a veggie burger. Second, I used to work at Burger King and in my futile attempts to avoid the unhealthy food there for a time I was eating their veggie burgers. No amount of barbecue sauce or any other condiment will make them *good*. With massive BBQ sauce they were edible.... but damn.
