I've never had Corn Flakes.

I agree that news with commenting would make the board more inactive... and as it is the news concept has already been semi-implemented using the "Points of Required Attention™" box. I like the idea with the five threads with the most recent posts though, because that would draw attention to the board itself.

I go to bed anywhere from 1 to 2 AM and get up anywhere from 8 to 12 AM. (These times usually change drastically if I have to get up early for something, normally when that happens I go to bed anywhere from 11 PM to midnight...)

Posted by Lenina While you do have some valid points, the rest of that rant is ridiculous. There are times when parents DO just sit and do nothing when their kids are out of control. However, you act as if that's all that ever happens. First of all, you assume that parents have complete control over every situation their kids are in. So what if they say "I have no control over it!"? Some kids don't respond to punishments or warnings. If a kid's parents can't do anything about the situation, why do you give a damn? Most of the time, it's a lot easier than one would think to just ignore something disruptive that someone is doing. It's one thing if someone is rolling on the floor of a restaurant, but something like someone talking over the divider can be ignored. Second, a lot of these "disruptions" you're talking about can be ignored easily. Why do you care so much about little things like that? Everyone can be disruptive, so don't go around acting like kids have to be "perfect angels" to go out in public. Third, that suggestion of yours is the most fucking biased thing ever. Why the hell should everyone put their kids away just because one person (you) finds them annoying? Just fucking ignore them if their parents can't do anything about it. The suggestion assumes that all kids are all bad and that nothing will be lost by seperating them from everyone else (as Hieda said, there are children here who are valuable contributers); it also assumes that kids are the only source of the problem. Age is just a number. People of all ages can be disruptive, so don't go around assuming that only kids have to be treated like that. Last, places DO ask people to leave if their kids are completely out of control. For example, one person was arrested because their kids were complete chaos on an airplane. Don't go around thinking that kids are allowed to just do anything. To sum it up: THE PROBLEM IS NOT KIDS BEING ANNOYING, IT IS YOUR INABILITY TO IGNORE SMALL PROBLEMS. Posted by blackhole89 At some points, yes, kids can be a massive annoyance to the point of not being able to ignore them (one example happened to me recently where some kids vandalized our yard), though things like that don't happen as often as Lenina seemed to imply (to me at least). When someone becomes that annoying, someone else needs to put a stop to it; I agree with the fact that parents sometimes just let their kids run wild but the whole ideas of "all kids are annoying", "kids should be locked away", "kids do nothing except for being annoying", and the like just make me mad (especially when the disruptions presented could have been ignored)... ____________________ "There are 3 types of people in this world: Those who can count and those who can't." |

While the total number of PMs is somewhat pointless, some people (myself included) like seeing it for some reason.
