that excuse doesn't work either, since you were usually on bragging about the latest new feature/whatever that this "demo" doesn't even have, and all the screenshots are either fake or from some "new" version we'll never see

To get past Cearn, assuming you're using VBA, go to 0x0801AE58 and zero out until the 13 at 0x0801AE63. This'll remove the battle command, so you just get Cut and stuff so you can continue.
