Although it doesn't have too much resemblance, it looks pretty dandy. I love low-poly models.

(specially by the name of the exe...)

Actually, "Joku" is Finnish and means "something"

Heh, LS. That's a rather clever pun.
Lookin' good, I guess. I've never played F-zero, but I guess this gives me a reason to.

Does it load the tile graphics from the ROM or are they just ordinary PNGs in the source?

[quote="DahrkDaiz" id="23635Graphics are loaded from the rom. I've added scroll bars to the editing area and display t he curret palette at the top. I should have a relesable beta by the end of the week.

Awesome! What's it made with, by the way? VB6 or C++ or such?

So after playing and watching some offsets of Mario's Tennis for the Virtual Boy, I made a rather fascinating discovery. Take a look at the character select screen here:

(Pardon the glitches, the emulator is incomplete.)

However, when in comparison to its hexadecimal equivalent, there's a notable string.
Starting from 0x7D694, there's a list of character names, all in the same order; Mario, Luigi, Princess, Yoshi, Toad, Koopa and DK. There's an extra name at the right, Cassarin, which apparently translates to Birdo. (Thanks, Chup)

What might this mean? I've read some FAQs and I see no mention of this "Cassarin", or Birdo for that matter at all.

Could be.
I'd check if there's graphics left of her but all I can find is small 8x8 chunks.
Virtual Boy graphics format is very fucked up.

That making-of video was pretty enlightening. Now I know how to use splines to make great bodies!

Fixed.

There were some good games for Virtual Boy such as VB Wario Land. Jack Bros. wasn't bad either. I still have fun playing it.

He probably meant that the system itself was obscure, rather than the games.
And yeah, Mario Clash and Virtual Boy Wario Land are good timewasters. I've cleared VBWL, and just recently cleared level 99 of Mario Clash.

Isn't that description of the ROM Hacking related releases a bit misinforming?
I mean, Kins posted that Goldeneye editor which wasn't his own work.
Shouldn't it say that you can also post links to editors and hacks, yours or not?

I would think that would be obvious.

Although perhaps it isn't.

(Also, consider using a better thread title next time. Pasting the forum's description is worthless and tells me nothing. "Regarding the wording of RH Releases' forum description" (for example) is much more informative and useful.

What would you suggest changing it to?

Sorry about that, won't happen again.

Maybe it could be "This is a forum where you can post links to ROM Hacking-related software, ROM Hacks, or Emulators and such. Please note that they don't have to be yours, so you can point out a certain hack you liked, or a somewhat recent ROM Hacking tool that a minority of people even know about yet."

Too long. Just change it to "Here, you can publish any released ROM hacks or ROM hacking tools, whether it's yours or not.".

But wouldn't that sound a bit wonky, since you really can't publish stuff that isn't yours...?
And yeah, the description is a bit too long.

being made with C/C++ and Window's API.

C++, alright! Are you planning on releasing the source code for everyone to use or as an exclusive for Linux/OS X porters?
If, you're going to release it, at all, of course.

I'm waiting for a VB emulator that supports sound. (And isn't Mac only )

That and I have 3d glasses, so I can play it in 3d.

I never had a real VB though.

Doesn't Reality Boy support sound?

Unless he made a sudden update to the source within the past few months, then nope.

He actually did.
