It has come to my attention that there is an unofficial build of Tile Molester floating around in the internet. It differs from the original Tile Molester in two ways:
-Its Splash screen does not have the circle-shaped mosaic structure, but a Catgirl on a red grid that a man in the background is kicking a hole into.
-It can read Windows Palette (PAL) Files as palettes. This is infinitely useful when it comes to editing GBA graphics because TM's ease of use and VBA's ability to generate PAL files.
If you're a Tile Molester user and while booting it you see a Catgirl on a red grid, PLEASE upload the "tmspec.xml" file somewhere, because it contains the rare .PAL listener.
Thank you

Water ripple effect can confuse a lot of people since they think the edge of the cliff/whatever ends to a certain point, but with the HDMA effect waving it you have no idea where it starts and ends. It can also confuse the Urchins.
However, they make a great parallax cloudy sky effect.

It is...?
I could've sworn I played a hack with underwater HDMA effect and having a hard time predicting where the Urchin turns next in the narrow passage with the massive twist twist bend ripple effect.

That looks super awesome..! Do you have any concept images of the final product? I really want to see the design :>

Fantastic nonetheless.

Solomon's crowbar
You're making an editor for the Mac? That sounds super awesome! (Don't get me wrong, Hukka. I'm not setting my respect for your editor aside)

Wouldn't IceEdit x kinda suggest that it's a Mac OS X port? When in reality it's just another editor, for the same game... but designed for the Macintosh instead.

Raccoon Sam: If it was related to Half life, it would be a nice name.

Well IceEdit X would mean a port rather than a totally different editor IMO.
But since it's such a simple game I really wouldn't care less for the name.

They're important only when it comes to greater tools such as emulators. SNES9X is on Macs is called SNES9X for a reason. It's a port and would be generally less popular if it was named something else.

It's called SNES9X only becuse it was a merge of two versions called SNES9something.

I meant why the port is called SNES9X, not the original SNES9X. But yeah, enough offtopicness.

Hukka, how many songs there are in the game?

The anatomy in most of the characters is pretty wonky.
The Alien drawing is pretty good, though. You should do vector art with the Tablet.. Tried Flash yet?

Well, my interpretation of 'Cartoon' and its style is an anatomically correct, but still not exactly realistic figure. Take Droopy, just look at him..
When in comparison to the 'modern' Cartoon, like this and this, the classic one is more definitive to the word 'Cartoon', in my opinion.. The style in the ones Smallhacker posted look like somewhat lower-quality versions of the Grim Reaper and the enthusiastic boy I linked you to above..

That huge Blurps is really awesome..! Makes me wonder why nobody ever does custom underwater enemies.

Also post #4000 in the SMW Hacking forum.

Well, it's been some time between when I made this topic and contacted Ragey.. In fact, I had forgotten the topic completely.
This can be closed now.

NO$GMB has a fine amount of debugging features if those are what you're after, GameLad too.
But yeah, interesting to see a thread that explains how you hack the game yourself to play a hack designed by someone else

'Ultimate' obviously means it's also for Linux and Mac OS X, right? Right?

Eh, I don't really mind. Concentration on the quality of the editor is so much more important than portability. Either way, it's looking very excellent so far.

JaSp's topic reminds me, are you going to integrate any kinds of music modification tools?

I'm not using anything from that graphics hack. I ripped the graphics myself.

Anyway, I'll get some new graphics to use, because I agree that SMAS is ripped from too often.

Damn straight, that sewer tileset looks like lobster shit so you should just stick it to ripping, not creating.
Otherwise it looks very awesome, especially the level design.

I like this hack..! The enemy designs are clever, and the level design is superb.
You should fix Mario's tilemaps, though.. Samus doesn't look that good with the stand pose being mostly mirrored.

EDIT: What the.. what's Ridley supposed to be %D

Looks good but.. What if you close them? Will they be banished foreevveeerrr?
I suggest having a top-bar like Lunar Magic or something like that for toggling the windows and opening the submenus.
Either way, fantastic!
