It's your own choice if you wanna do this. The highest leveled guy there has 7000+ pupils and I don't believe all of those are legit.

I uninstalled that program since I couldn't get it to work, anyway.

I've played thorugh Mother 2/Earthbound, though, and done everything in it including getting rare weapons and stuff. The side-effect of that was me reaching level 99 before taking on the last boss.

I told you it was too much of a hassle to get that program to work so I gave up on it.

Not allowed according to who? It's not like it's forbidden. Many people do it, anyway. Besides, they can't really prevent it. You only get EXP from one pupil per IP, though so that might be their way to do it.
