After having yet another mini-hack inexplicably broken by Hyrule Magic in some of the weirdest, most random places, I kind of got to wondering about the only hack of LttP that was ever finished, Parallel Worlds.
SePH was working on version 2.0 last time I checked. Except now his blog is deleted. What happened, did he quit? I was actually looking forward to the redesigned dungeons. ____________________ ~Zedison |

Just tried this. I like the speed improvements.
I noticed the strobing magic meter also strobes the green frames in the item menu and the rupee counter. The new bombs are kinda neat, but using A to drop them kind of runs against the way the rest of the game works, where A is used to throw things. I'd say a good control scheme would be A to throw bombs normally, Y to drop them, and B to throw them long-distance. The knockback from the bombs is a little different. Seems like it might interfere with bomb jumping, but that needs more testing. ____________________ ~Zedison |

Bomb jumping works, but the setup is a little different. Link doesn't lift off until a few frames after he gets hit, but he goes farther. You have to plant the bomb three tiles from the pit you want to jump over, then stand in front of it, in the middle of the second tile. ____________________ ~Zedison |

If you're editing the sprites in Photoshop then it's pretty likely that it's just ignoring the palette layout. (Getting photoshop to respect a palettized image is like pulling teeth.) You may not be adding any new colors, but if the palette is in the wrong order when you reinsert the graphics then it will look jumbled in the game.
I recommend using a dedicated sprite editor for this job so it will observe and keep the proper palette. Have you tried the free edition of Graphics Gale? ____________________ ~Zedison |
