Hey, what happened to that full release!
Also, a thought: Fester's Quest and Blaster Master were both made by Sunsoft and both feature a very similar overworld setup... I can't help but wonder if maybe, with a slight modification, your editor could be used to edit Blaster Master's overworld. I've never looked at the data for either game, so this is all pure speculation, but it would certainly be interesting to find out... and I think someone out there had some Blaster Master level data at one point or another... Anyway, pipe dreams, pipe dreams! ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

Okay, I installed more memory a few months ago (upgrading from 512 Mb to 2.5 Gb), and I've been wondering since then...
The old memory is 333 Mhz, the new is 400 Mhz, so the highest speed it's all going to run at is 333 Mhz... So the question is: Is it better to run more memory at a lower speed (2.5 Gb at 333) or less memory at a slightly higher speed (2 Gb at 400)? ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

Posted by Scion Are you insane!? Mr. Game and Watch was the best part of Super Smash Bros. And I'm pretty sure he was confirmed a long time ago as not returning. ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

Um... you didn't happen to post about the three missing tracks on the Pete & Pete IMDB board yesterday, did you?
Edit: Just checked your profile--it is you! What a bizarre coincidence. I sent you the Syd Straw track an hour or two ago, by the way! ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

Every character was so perfectly cast on that show, and there's just something about Hardy Rawls as Don "Dad" Wrigley that I can't get enough of! He was so real and so funny in a very subtle way... ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

What the--?! You don't find that as unusual as I do? Out of all the boards on the entire interenet, that--oh, whatever.
I have a not-so-loud version of the 6ths song, too, if you're interested. ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

I really like the level designs a lot, and the music fits in great! I am not a fan of the graphics at all, and the story sounds like something I've heard a dozen times before (and is way too serious for Super Mario, in my opinion), but I don't play hacks for the story anyway, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
The level design more than makes up for any inadequacies in my book, so I'd definitely be willing to check this out! Keep us updated. ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

Here's something I swear I remember doing as a kid, and having mentioned it to my friend he insists he did it too... but neither of us is able to do it anymore, nor can I find any info. on Google...
In Mario 3, after you beat one of the Koopa Kids and grab the wand, I seem to remember being able to press left and right on the D-pad to make Mario/Luigi change directions as he was falling down back towards the castle. I don't know if there was another button combination or if you had to be doing something when you grabbed the wand or what--whatever I did then, I either forgot or made up and tricked myself into believing really happened. Does this sound remotely familiar to anyone, or am I just nuts? Any help would be appreciated--this is serious business! ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

I just played through the first Lolo the other day, so I was well-prepared to take this on!
I got up to the fifth floor, I think, and gave up somewhere in the second, third... maybe fourth room, I can't remember exactly which. Either way, very nice hack, and I especially like the action-oriented aspect of it... not that there aren't some good puzzles, too. Seems to me like you're one of the more prolific ROM hackers, as I see more releases from you than anyone else--and even better, I like that you don't just hack SMB3 or something over and over again like a lot of other people--always like to see a good mix of underrepresented games, and this is certainly one of them. And again, good job on the Lolo 2 hack! ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

The trailer looked pretty good, and it's great to see new Mega Man hacks coming out--it's hands-down my favorite series, and there are shamefully few hacks for any of the games, considering the fantastic editors that are available.
I'll definitely check this out some time, but I agree that I'd like to see some recent screen shots before I "commit" to anything... ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

I believe Nestopia can patch the ROM automatically, actually. You might want to check the readme file and find out, as it would save you plenty of time and reduce the number of ROMs you'll have sitting on your hard drive. ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

Posted by Jin Dogan Uh, that's an enormous stretch... The Neon Tiger one is a good match, though, and only makes the Guns N Roses-themed names in X5 that much more awesome. ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |

I love that the top four threads in ROM hacking are all Mega Man games. You don't see enough Mega Man hacks get released!
Anyway, this hack looks like it's come a long way since last time, and I can't wait to play it. (Incidentally, the video reminds me a lot of the Donkey Kong Country VHS tape Nintendo Power sent out in the mid-'90s. The music and the way the clips are cut together and everything--intentional or not, gold!) ____________________ andrew sylvester dot com | retrogaming @ robot vaudeville |
