That's what we forgot. An introduction thread. |

Ace is actually working on this one. It's his board.
And it is the second version. |

He means the RPG stats. They're just for decoration. |

I don't think we have a 'close thread' feature yet. |

I went out at the old board with 808 posts.
Not sure what my count was on the previous version, probably under 300. |

I'd base my theme off the current one, just with different colors/images. |

Hmm.. perhaps there could be a way for users to design their own theme for private use, and from there submit them for consideration for release to the general public. |

Board 1 incarnation 2:
I was downloading random SNES hacks (mostly SMW) off Zophar's. One of them had a shout-out to the board in the first level. Board 1 incarnation 3: I was there when it happened, man. I remember. Board 2: IRC. |

I found a CD for Microsoft's rendition of Blade Runner. But at the time, my computer didn't have enough room to install it for a test run.
I still have the CD, but I've never actually done anything with it since the initial "what the hell is this?" test (the CD was burned, with nothing but "PSP-1" written on it) |

In the devastation wrought by the Acmlmocalypse, I've been doing some thinking about the places I'd been, before that.
My first real home on the internet was a visual chat program called The Palace. It was very fancy at the time -- around 1992 -- and since I'd not yet discovered the superior text-only nature of IRC, it seemed like a fun way to kill time. Initially I would only connect to the default server, but then as I discovered the server directory, I began to bounce around until finally settling on one called The Anime Carnival. I spent about seven years there. For the most part, it was nice. Eventually the Palace software was bought out by another company which started its slow descent into moronity. I left when when TAC's owner handed the keys over to a known idiot because she just didn't care anymore. In between, I spent about six months on an MMORPG called Dark Ages (not to be confused with Dark Ages of Camelot). I had actually found DA through its older sister Nexus, but given that neither was free and I only had enough money for one, I chose DA because I preferred its art style and it had better RPers. I still hang around there (only these days I settle for recurring free trials), but with the fact that all the RPers have left (both), Nexus actually getting updates and new features, and DA being an endless grindfest while Nexus remains somewhat entertaining, I have shifted my focus. But, yeah. My main stint in MMOland lasted six months. After that I drifted aimlessly through cyberspace until I came across SCII.org, which was basically a bunch of geeks coming up with way better ideas for Starcraft 2 than Blizzard will ever have, due largely to the fact that Blizzard will never actually get around to making Starcraft 2. The site eventually tanked, and was revived as OmniverseZero. I don't think any of the old crowd still hangs there. That was keen for a while, but eventually I moved on, when an old friend from TAC introduced me to Bob and George. I didn't touch the BnG forums themselves very often. Only to inform my half-dozen loyal fans of updates to my own comic. Mostly I stayed at the Primer Chronicles' forums, but I also hung out in #bobandgeorge on whatever the hell server it was. But after not too long a time, I ended up being too busy to work on my comics, then Primer ended and the forum lost all activity (My comic's thread was the largest by far), and so I moved on. The next place I camped out -- if only for a month or two -- was the Pokemon boards on GameFAQs. I was there when Fire Red got its own social board. Fun and stupidity were both abundant. Not long after, I ended up adminning a forum that went by the initials PACM. The less said about that, the better. Heh, you think Ace's draws a bad crowd? We drew AHM. I banned myself and never went back. And then I came here. So, what about the rest of you. Where did you hang before now? |

The new board software is still a work in progress. Obviously there is need for improvement. |

I have an A&W, Subway, McDonalds, Wendys, and KFC all within walking distance of my apartment.
I've never actually gone to the McDonalds or the Wendys. Beyond that it depends on whether I'm in the mood for a sub, a mozza burger, or a spicy big crunch. Now I'm hungry.. |

We don't need a full-blown RPG system. But we should at least have a hidden minigame or two. |

Everyone had to do Abbot and Costello in their time.
I had to do it in public. My teacher insisted I change "I don't give a damn" to "I don't give a darn". I changed it to "I don't care" instead. |
