Backwards compatibility can't last forever. If people whining actually got anything done, the DSi would probably still have compatibility with 20-year-old Game Boy games (yeah, remember when everyone bitched because they couldn't play Tetris GB on their DSes? Keep your GB/GBC/GBA around if it really mattered to you!).
The "GBA slot" actually had extra functionality for the DS itself, but it was not often used. Who really gives a fuck that you can't transfer pokémon from one generation to the next? If you really are dependent on it, buy an action replay and cheat those pokémon onto the newer games. Or just keep your old DS (Lite) around for that game, what a concept! |

Wouldn't it be better just to make a graph out of the user data? |

My Xbox 360 RROD'd about five months ago, it sucked. Was playing Doom on it, of all things, and it overheated (no, I don't do anything stupid either like keeping it inside a cabinet or whatever, the machine is out in the open). I was just barely still in warranty; and my new console is no longer under warranty (their warranty policy sucks ass), I really hope it doesn't break as well. |

They'll just give you a brand new console; your old console is still sitting in some warehouse waiting to actually get fixed some months down the road. |

Typically the BIOS will disable the onboard video if you have a real video card installed, so no. |

The pioneering game of the first person shooter genre is now on Xbox Live Arcade as well as the Playstation Network (I can't find a link on their official site, sorry...). All for $5 (400 Microsoft points; you can pay with real money on Playstation).
I got the port (for Xbox 360), it's very faithful to the original, although there's a small pause when opening secret passages (I don't know how that got past Q&A, but oh well...). Additionally it's a 197MB download pretty much only because it contains a trailer video for the new Wolfenstein game to be released on August 4; download probably would have been 4-10MB without that. Not much of an issue with hard disk sizes and internet connections these days, unless you only have a memory card and/or dialup. |

My host uses a FreeBSD cluster, each user+site is contained in its own jail, it's actually even better than dedicated hosting with the flexibility and speed. |
