Uploaded a Windows 3.1 video now, though it might be an hour or so until you can actually view it... |

Well, Win32 carries from early OS/2, later Windows NT when MS forked OS/2 as their own.
I've decided I'll do a Windows NT 3.1 video next, putting the versions in the order of release, regardless of weather they're built on DOS or not. The new video should be later today... it doesn't take a whole lot of time from recording to uploading; just clean up the audio, make sure it's still synced with the video well enough, and upload. |

Windows NT 3.1 video up (well, actually it was up last night, but this board has a stupid double-posting restriction) |

In fact, I've met people who have been shocked to find out Windows even existed before 3.0.... "You mean there were versions before the third major version?!" |

Posted by Cirvante I tried that once and it didn't work. 15, years later I still have not received a Red Ryder BB gun under the Christmas tree. I've given up hope by now |

Windows XP, 2003 videos up. Now the question is, is Vista worth enough hassle to bother installing? |

Posted by Ailure That's not a good test. This is a better test. Besides, it would be extremely shocking if it doesn't pass PNG. |

Decent attempt at a browser, but still lacking some major features. Like bookmarks. |

Posted by boingboingsplat Usually bullshit programs for copying photos. Only they take up 1GB of RAM and 5GB of disk space. |

Even the Super Pack is half-price
so if you're missing any id games in your collection, it's a damn good weekend to complete it. |

And these ones don't contain encrypted data files or any of that garbage. You can just copy the game data files and use them in any port |

Steam is a Windows application (though you can run it in Wine) for buying games and downloading them directly to your hard disk.... the web site should give you all the information you really need about it. |

Not to mention, you can just run all id games completely standalone from Steam... put it on a CD-R, and you can copy them back to your computer without installing Steam again. |

I bought the id Super Pack.... my computer can't handle Doom 3, but the rest are fine. heh
I already had quite a few games on CD (Doom and Quake games), but it was cheaper to buy the whole bunch than buy the individual ones. This rocks. |

that would be nice, though unlikely.... I tried getting people in an old school Doom deathmatch (using Chocolate Doom) here, and it wasn't too successful. |
