i think a problem with acmlm's board for a long time has been that there was just too much staff, so whatever you guys do here don't let it become like before where there's like 10 admins and 20 full mods.

They write their own songs, play their own instruments, I basically idolize these guys for those sole facts. Lots of talent right there.

uhm you know like every band ever write their own songs right, thats not really a reason to idolize them

Not really, you know. Most of these "popular" artists these days...you know like Britney Spears and other people I don't really care enough about to remember, look at the inserts on the inside of their CDs. You'll see other people credited to have wrote prety much every song there. Its not too uncommong for an artist to just sing or perform a song they didn't write. And being someone who writes music themself, I always told myself that if I ever decided to persu performance towards a professional level that I would always want to write my own stuff, it seems more your own style that way, I guess. Which is kinda why I idolize them in that regard, they don't just play whats put in front of them but take the time to come up with their own stuff the majority of the time.

i was talking about real bands not britney spears or backstreet boys or whatever

A really great album that tickles my indie-bone is the Stubbs the Zombie Soundtrack. I think it is potentially the best thing since sliced bread. It features some of my favourite bands, Clem Snyde and The Flaming Lips for instance, covering some of the greatest songs like Earth Angel and Lolipop. I think that there fails to be a single song on that album that I dislike. They're all bloody gold.

i really dont like cover albums, but if it makes more people listen to these old awesome tracks then i guess im fine with it ;o
