It's been years since their last adventure together. Leo's been traveling the world, training. Mikey's been working kid's birthday parties (wearing a big turtle head mask). Don's been working tech support. And Raph's returned to his vigilante ways, wearing some body armor which disguises him well enough that nobody manages to realize it's him.


Its glad to see they haven't changed since ... well forever.

I guess you can count on two things in this world, turtles, and corrupt politicians.

I think I should pirate watch this.

I have two nephews who I have helped raise. The younger isn't two yet, but I stand by my assessment thusfar.


I have a dozen or so nephews and neices I help raise (Yeah, I have a big family, it sucks). One of the younger kids, albert, he's 2 or something, is completely engulfed when he sees spongebob on TV, when a young kid sees what they want to see, they'll sit there and watch it until a commercial is on, or its over. Every kid is different, but toddlers are defenitely capable of sitting and shutting up and watching a film for a few hours.

less talk about accidental pregnancies, moar talk about green ninjas plz.

The sprite left is an avatar I used for years - and a combination of "player-gives-magic-command" - casting pose itself - winning pose; its extreme simplicity rocks and I like the animation it makes. Using a smooth filter might remove the "pixelized" look from it (since it's originally size is two vertical 16x16 tiles - tiny); but I like that touch. The name of the sprite is ... *points to username*


I'm glad you resized it, actually.

The sprite was made by Tarale and the avatar was made by an old member named Skylar (not to be mesed up with Skydude).

I was trying to figure that out myself. My only guess is that the person is programming the game (due to the lack of sprite animation frames, physics, etc)...thus as you suggest, not a hack.
I think in this case the fact that it's tangentially related (as in, it's a fan-based gaming thing, not a drawing or something) gives it the right to be showcased here.

If you look carefully, the starting frame is actually in the run pose. It just looks like he's frozen because of the palette fade in.


its not the pose itself, but the motion that makes it look odd. Perhaps starting him offscreen could help that? Its nothing really big or anything.

and now that you mention it about the sprite thing, thats pretty clever.

As it turns out, the site I got it from was one of those sites which hosted an emporium of NESticle hacks....you know, really simple graphic only stuff from days of old like Wheelchair Mario, Penis Mario, Nigger Mario, that sort of thing...and that just blew my mind. After that I decided I would learn how to ROM-hack myself and it just sorta went from there.

My original avatar was something I made in MS Paint in about 2 minutes. It's the non-Christmas version of this. That was way way long ago, like at least 6-7 years ago. (Shit, has it been that long already?) It's a yellow face with red eyes, furrowed eyebrows, a jagged nose, and a jumbled bunch of lines for a mouth. The original text (now partially obscured) read "THIS AVATAR ROX," drawn wrapping around the sides of the image because I wrote it way too big to fit it around the face easily.

Come my first Christmas here, I decided to make a Christmas version of my avatar by adding the MERRY CHRISTMAS across the bottom and a Santa hat, which is what you see to your left. Then Christmas came, and went... but my laziness did not, and so I never changed my avatar back. And it has stood for all time since then as a lasting monument to Christmas, bringing you the spirit of the holiday all 12 months of the year, going on 7 years straight now.

Which is why I basically have the best avatar in the history of the internets. Anyone who disagrees is a liar and probably a Communist.
