Aw cmon, it's not an Acmlmboard without layouts. You can just turn them off if you want plain text.

But what if there are some layouts I really like (i.e. anything Tarale has ever made)?

I think selective layout blocking would be a nice feature to have, though the chances of it ever being implemented are about as small as the period at the end of this sentence on a 22" monitor running at 1680x1050.

I would say the chances of that happening is the chances of us getting layouts at all

and it will probably happen in about 3x the amount of time it took us to get layouts.

I mean, we can all do ghetto layouts if we really wanted too, but who's that desperate

edit:

Auto-updating (i.e., not saved)
I prefer them like that; much easier to manage, and it probably make them easier for mods to nuke.

However I'm looking forward to having a header again.

Eh... I thought them not-auto updating was a neat touch, the posts had history and such; a exp or health bar in an auto-updating layout wouldn't be half as cool

Voxel art? Can't say I've heard of it.

Drag: Some of the best things I've ever seen have come out of technical limitations I remember you working on that last one, though.

also;

getting better. Can't figure out how to fucking paint textures on there though :/

One of these days I'll get it. One of these days.

yeah yeah, I like to keep it clean. I don't want anything obfuscating my view of the mess.

sounds like its just a bad/over dump or the dumper had that in memory from before, whatever.

the same thing happened with Sonic 1; there were graphics that for years people thought were un-used, but it turns out they were just artifacts from a different game.

I would try pete's directx plugins, they've always seemed to work the fastest for me on any PC. All I can say is fuck with all the options of the plugin, try any plugin you can find, and you might want to give ePSXe 1.6 a chance

and if all else fails check out pSX; you don't have to spend time dicking with plugins with that. Its fairly new, but a really good emulator.

The DirectX version ran slower; same with the software version of the plugin.
1.6.0 ran like crap.

I -did- conveniently- forget that there was pSX, thanks for reminding me. That's something I'll need to try.

There a comparable plugin in to Pete's GPU?

EDIT: Traps, there's a frame limit in the GPU plugin. You know that, right?

Hm, I guess openGL just runs better for you because you actually have a video card

CD-ROM and sound plugins shouldn't affect it, and if you can't fix it with the in-game menu (hit insert or delete or one of those keys, I forget which now), then check game-specific cixes in the video plugin config menu, and if its not in there I'd say just check out other plugins or google search for solutions :\

It might just be me, but pSX seemed a little bit slower (at least it couldn't speed up near as much as ePSXe), so I'd try to get ePSXe working first.

ah, Only thing I can think of then is to try other plugins, or keep it around until you eventually get a new PC =P

So good luck with that

you're doing it wrong

Some things I noticed right away are that the pipe is too big and out of the perspective you do have, and that in certain parts the high concentration of black linse together with bright colors (the green bridge, sort of the ladder but not as bad) make it hard to tell what some things are right away, but apart from that you can mostly tell whats going on.

I wont be using Vista out of "I can't afford the shit and there is no point to pirating a shitty OS when there are tons of great free ones"

unless it somehow gets insanely popular and I get a job developing vista software for good money, then fuck yeah I'm going to use it.
