I've returned from the old board! The name's 3.14+(also known as 3.14159..., but I am fed up with that.) Since the move of the server, I am not able to visit Acmlm's II anymore, but today I found a proxy site...
My hobbies are chemistry(rather dangerous, I know), playing with DS, and SMW Hacking(No time since I bought a DS), blah blah...
Well nothing too much, but I want to say that if I disappeared for a long period of time, it's not that I left Acmlm's II, but the proxy site was down.

And... my English is not very good. Please excuse XD

Nope, dude. You CAN'T just rename the mml file.
That is because:
#1 The MML file usually have 10+ channels, but as you may have known in ZSNES, you can only have 8 channels on SNES.
#2 You must have a "header" in the file, it consists of the title, volume, tempo, channel pointer, instrument, blah blah... XD
#3 The MML file isn't ready to insert. You should replace the ===CH 0X=== with #x(where X is the channel number) Actually, it is really tough to do. I repeat, REALLY TOUGH TO DO. It may take 5+ hours to insert the music successfully.

I hope you can understand. If you don't, please go to SMW Central - Hack discussion section, where there's a music request thread.

[edit] I'm so careless that I pressed the "submit" without writting anything.

I like your OW design and 3D-ish level layout. Keep up the good work!

I don't think it is necessary to edit SMW's physics. And that may take a LONG time. If you have time, what about creating a Layer 2 Vertical movement or pause menu?

Oh yes, this program does not help when you get a bunch of boxes in addmusic(they are Japanese characters indeed), but when you have trouble whether to delete a channel in a midi file or to compose your own music, then this program becomes handy.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE BASICAL MUSIC KNOWLEDGE TO USE THIS SOFTWARE
This program is called Overture, URL: http://geniesoft.com/trialversions/Overture4Demo.exe
I don't know what function does this demo contains(I just used a Chinese version), but as far as I know, this software supports midi format so you can decide which channel to delete or modify, and if you want to compose a new piece you can use it as well, instead of plain txt files, and output a midi file. Well at least this software helps me a lot. Enjoy

[edit]and here are some useless words. to see errors in addmusic more clearly, you can copy the text into ultraedit, the line numbers correspond to the error line numbers shown in addmusic.

As you appear to know Chinese as a native language, you could also try looking at the source (which is, as far as I recall, included with the Addmusic package) and deducing the meaning of error messages etc.

I'll post some of the Japanese characters here, so you change the character set to Shift-JIS and read my explanations(I know a little Japanese )

For example:

(1)13.txt のサイズ: 1505 = The size of 13.txt : 1505

(2)エラー:変換データが容量を超えました
エラー:ファイル書きこみ失敗 java.lang.Exception
ファイルへの書きこみに失敗しました

This is the error message you get when you try to input large music. Maybe if the size of the files inputed earlier are way too large (~7-8K), then this will pop up. The last line is displayed when the file is failed to input, no matter what kind of error it is.

(3)95 行目 エラー:オクターブの指定が不正です

This will show up if you've got the error like "o7". Actually it means an octave error.

(4)95 行目 エラー:音程が高すぎます
96 行目 エラー:音程が高すぎます
bla bla bla...

These messages normally will appear in bunches, if you've got one > or < wrong, then the following lines will be wrong too. Just check out the first line and correct it.

(5)99 行目 エラー:「>」
This will usually appear along with (4)

So as far as I know these are usually seen in the addmusic program.

Did you tried opening the .txt files on WordPad instead of Notepad?

I don't know when you open the text files what do you get, but I just get a lot of scrambled character(for Japanese). And my meaning for that sentense is it doesn't help with recognizing Japanese characters

So the tool in question is pretty much a graphical MIDI tracker? (Too few disk space to try it out and see for myself at the moment...)

Yes, this is a GUI MIDI tracker, but I find it very fit for custom music so I posted it here

Welcome there. Seems like we have a bunch of Chinese visitors recently.

Actually I am a Chinese and I haven't visited Acmlm for almost 2 years.

Oh, hello 3.14+! Long time no see. :o

What's with the sudden influx of Chinese users, anyway? Did the Great Firewall stop blocking this server?

Actually, Acmlm's Board was never banned by firewall. It's only that I have exited SMW Hacking and I forgot here , but recently someone reminded me about Acmlm, so I paid a visit.

And the Chinese users here are all from Baidu Post, they are not random users, some of them are even experienced ROM hackers. Meanwhile some of them may be too excited and forget the rules here, so please give them a break

Why were the pins of your new processor "all broken or bent"? Is the slot itself broken or the processor does not fit the slot? And since the older PC is so old that it has only 128MB RAM, why would a new processor cost ~140 Euro?

Anyway, I feel sorry for you. But don't abandon hope, try sending the hard drive repairing.

I haven't write a bio since I came to acmlm so I will write a little today

Hi everyone I'm 3.14+(currently known as ignorethis), I joined Acmlm since 2006.2 (maybe later) but I seldom post, so few people actually know me. My hobby is chemistry(pure chem lover), anime and music(mostly anime and game OSTs, sometimes classic). Favourite game is osu! by now. I had hacked SMW since 2005.10 but I exited now because it takes up too much time. As I remembered, when I left acmlm in 2007 the forums were confused with flaming and trolling, and a few people are fucking around. Now it has been much nicer here.

Anyway I will visit Acmlm every few days, and I will post as many as I can here , thanks.

I think it was general consensus among the staff - those I asked, at least - to not take any steps in response to the "rule forgetfulness inflicting excitement" as long as the rule-forgetting stays in this thread and doesn't manifest in the form of, say, bumps all over the place.

They have common sense that bumping threads is against the rule

The irony. It burns.

Maybe I didn't check out the last reply date. However, since that forum has got too few threads in it, it doesn't matter a lot if I "bump" a thread in the first page.

I'm downloading some animes just now when I heard someone knocking at the door. I thought it was my mother so I directly cut the power supply of my PC. When later I turned it on again, it got a blue screen for me. No matter what I do(safe mode etc.) I still got the same message. I took out a system CD and attempt to reinstall when I found that Drive C was completely destroyed by the accident. So you know what happened next... formatting drive C and reinstall all of the drivers and softwares. The worst thing is that I lost all my information on drive C... luckily there was nothing important.

So next time I will backup all the important info on my hard drive

And by the way, I happened to bump a couple threads yesterday. Maybe I turned to the wrong page and replied without seeing the date, so sorry about that.

While I'm sorry to hear that, I think you somewhat overreacted by instantly formatting and reinstalling. By the lone virtue of the probability of too large parts of C: being in the process of being rewritten at once being quite low, what likely happened is that, at most, some part of the partition table or C:'s FS metadata broke - which would have enabled you to restore the partition to a near-unharmed state using tools that are floating around the internet. I managed to manually restore accidentally deleted partitions before...

Not exactly. When I got to the beginning phase of installing program, I saw that partition C is unrecogniseable(it showed 20000MB/20000MB, which means that it is actually completely destroyed), so I had no choice but to format and reinstall.

[edit]Oh, I see your meaning, but I was very panic at that time, so I forgot. And there was no way to visit Internet if the PC is like that. However there was no important files on drive C, so I am not too regretful now

Posted by Ailure
Is anime really that controversial within your family?

No, but if they see me using PC immidiately after I came home, I will be flamed. But I am only checking out forums for new posts and threads.

Sorry to tell that YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG. I've been visiting Acmlm without any proxy server since 2006, meanwhile SMWCentral, Iceboard, et al. all need a proxy server to visit.

Yeah, especially in this day and age where viruses and spyware could fuck up an unprotected computer in an instant.

Not that serious though , if you have properly set your antivirus program.

As you know, Chinese goverment does have many limits to internet, culture and so on(Many Japanese animes are banned while stupid home-made cartoons are played on TV, yeah I'm FUCKING SERIOUS, STUPID, AS THEY ARE ONLY ACCEPTABLE BY CHILD UNDER AGE 5~6 AND SUCH), but I am not clear on the internet visiting issue, since SMWCentral have nothing to do with sensitive topics like politics, religion, et al.

And some people have mentioned that goverment prevents people from knowing certain truth. Sometimes it is true though, I can say.

Oh well, please avoid sensitive topic.

[edit]Just as I finished the above content, and I refreshed Acmlm, suddenly the whole Acmlmboard became 404'd. Now I'm using proxy server to visit. I'm not sure about the reason, but it doesn't seem like goverment had banned Acmlmboard in such a short time.
