hey I was looking through some old posts I made on my journal and I found this thing I wrote a year and half ago. it still applies

I can't get myself to finish Mario & Luigi 2. After a long break, I decided to check it out again, and was instantly bored. It's just a stupid game, I can't stand it. I was amused by the first M&L until the very end. I'm not going to go back to compare.. but what made the sequel so bad? Is it the emphasis on the different ways you can push four buttons? Is it the ridiculously long and unsatisfying boss battles? Is it the fact that I have no incentive to level up or pay attention to anything except to make boss battles shorter (but then I'd just be losing that time leveling up, so it wouldn't matter either way)? How did Nintendo make this game so dull?
I'd like to see them hook up with Square for another Mario RPG. That'd be sweet.. well, probably not. Not if they tried to incorporate the stupid characters found in Mario games nowadays.

yoshi's island 2 was also an embarrassment. what the fuck were they thinking with the music
