Well, if the limit was too high, on a busy board, it'd quickly take a lot of HDD space. Now, seeing how active this board is, I guess it wouldn't be much of a problem. In the worst case, if it gets abused too much, one can always put higher limits for staff only...

(also, some hosts allow for 'unlimited' HDD space, not going to advertise one here tho)


Mood avatars can't be more than 30 KB. Your argument is moot. Given there's less than 20-30 active users right now, that would allow for everyone to basically have over 1500 mood avatars, and it still probably wouldn't equal up to more than 1 GB of HD space.


when I see the posts above me: why the fuck are we letting that kind of people in?! I clearly prefer no activity at all rather than this kind of activity!

It's because there's a full backup being made every day. And "full" includes the entire geolocation table and a bunch of sizable, quasi-forensic logs.

Those backups are, in a word, insane.


Is that really necessary? I mean Im pretty sure that's more extensive than what the USG does.
