I'd imagine they have different objects/sprites or whatever.

On that note, what is NSMB's format like? Tile based foreground with object based sprites? Or is it all object-based like other Mario games?

Edit: Also, does anyone know the size of the NSMBWii ISO? I don't feel like looking for it and I want to know if I can fit it on my 8GB flash drive.

400/800MB? Wow that's tiny. That can easily fit on my USB drive. Good news for easily testing edited levels!

I still need to get around to find all of the required homebrew, I've never really played any downloaded ISOs before. I just use homebrew for emulation, heh.

I didn't even realize there was a spin jump until like world 6. So I don't know what you're talking about.

And as far as slippery physics goes: I didn't have a problem with them, since the game doesn't actually require you to have super tight controls anyways.

I just finished world one with my dad. He was predictably horrible, he had to use 3 continues. However, we seem to do pretty well if I carry him and he shoots fire/ice balls.

I wish I had someone who was at the same skill level as me to play with; then I would have a justified reason for killing them.

Yeah, we can talk about/ask questions about/get support here I suppose. I figured there's enough interest to warrant a thread.

I'll start off with a question: If I use a USB loader to load ISOs from my USB drive, do I need to do anything else to my wii for it to work? (I know you have to partition the drive.)

I would imagine compile ROM actual sticks all your data in the ROM so you can play it; however, I don't have the editor but my guess would be that it's not functional in the public releases as of now.

I'm planning on using my 8GB flash drive, so what do you guys recommend? I wasn't planning on dumping my own ISO, but since I have the NSMBWii disk I might as well give it a shot.

I have access to a 1TB external HDD, but it's technically my sister's, and I don't think she'd appreciate my partitioning her disk and moving it away from the computer.

I'm currently torrenting it anyways, but it's going pitifully slow. I'm downloading the full iso instead of a scrubbed one, not sure why, but whatever. Should I find a torrent for a pre-scrubbed one instead?

So let me get this straight: I'll need to:
Install cIOS 222/223 by hermes
Get the configurable USB Loader homebrew app
Have the ISO on my USB drive (Formatted as FAT32 or WBFS)

Are there are risks installing cIOS 222/223 I should be worried about?

I say go for it; I don't hack pokemon, but if I ever do, I'd want to hack with the best possible editor available. Plus if it's user-friendly enough, people will choose to hack pokemon advance instead if it has a greater ease than hacking other pokemon games. (Say, the DS games once they get hacked)

I have an English teacher that insists that I submit drafts of all writing projects I submit to her, even if there's no difference between the draft and final revision.

It's stupid.

I absolutely HATE when teachers make you do that. I mean, what's the point of doing more than one draft when you don't NEED another draft? I also hate when they make you do "brainstorming" and turn that in.

I also like what you did with the Rainbow Road track sets. Very creative!

Why this hasn't been re-implemented yet, I'll never know. I also whole-heartedly agree.

Shift+F5 to force reload of images instead of loading from cache. It doesn't look like a bouncing mack to me, so everything seems to be in order.
