They go in this order:
Turn block with item / ! block
Note block
? block
Unused turn block that can be bounced off of from the sides
Translucent block
On/off switch
Turn block

Note: The properties are in the xyppccct format.

I don't know where broken brick pieces and the used sprite properties are stored.

Edit:
10D8C | Exploding Block/Monty Mole Dirt Tile Attributes. This is just for the regular brown exploding block...

Yes, but you'll just have to limit your sprites around the blocks.
I myself would like to get a hold of that sprite myself. I could make it myself, but I wouldn't know how to make it solid and impassable.

The gradient is a bit to bright.

Done, plenty of times, now without dieing, that's another story, I think I got to the Ice Land without dieing once. And then I was too disappointed to continue.

I meant without getting hurt like he did with SMB1.

I made my Status Bar use just Palette 1. I've yet to come across a background that uses all of palettes 0 and 1.

but make the clouds more bright


The clouds use palette 7, if I make them brighter they'll use the colour of the sea. I also can use palette 5 to make the outlined blue yellow, what do you guys prefer?

Just use a different palette that you aren't using.

The is a help file for a reason. But anyways...

1) I'm assuming you mean the layer 3 tides. Click the blue button with the fish on it (next to the Lakitu head) and change the Layer 3 Options box to "No Layer 3."

2) Click the purple poison mushroom button and change the second drop down box.
