On an unrelated note, I just set up Notepad++ to compile and run Java code. All that's left is to add automatic .jar packing, .jnlp generation, and I should have a Java development environment on my hands. Your screenshots, while they do show off a few interesting things, for the most part are boring.
The palette you're using for the ground has problems with the bushes - the highlight is far too bright compared to the rest of it. Nice use of default tiles to construct that "antenna" thing. It works the same in Photoshop (CS2, at least), with the added benefit of a reasonable GUI.
