Sorry I figured that there would be lots of romhacking.net users already here, since this is a popular place, and before today I was still mad at them. but that really had nothing to do with me coming here, I hered about this place long before I ever joined romhacking dot net, and I like it, it is alot more active then RHDN. nice to meet you anyway, I had to say something about where I came from thats all, sorry for being an ass.

Nice website.

Thanks I did think any one would like my site, as it is cluttered, and even I think it's ugly. On another note an interductoin topic would have made it easier for me, later.

Well this is probably an exausted topic, but I am wanting to learn something new, and I know that there are level editors for this, but thats not what I want to do, I want to change the levels using only hex, myself for learning how to do it, thing is I have no ideal where the level data is in the smb1 rom, if some one knows where any part of it is or how to find it I could work with that, and feel my way around like a blind man, until I figure out what I can change, I am very fimilar with hex editing, and such I just need some where to start, later.

How about getting one of those editors, modifying a tile in a level, and then comparing the original ROM with your modified one ? That way you'd know where the level data is... or some of it, at least.

Heck I never thought of that, I will give it a try tho. the rom map helps and there are some for a lot of other nes games that will probably keep me busy for a while. thanks for the help so far, tho I am a little slow in getting around, later.
