Now, I do find Windows update the most backwards thing ever (especially compared to your average Linux package manager), but... there's really no reason to outright disable the windows update service like that. I just find it easier to select "download updates but let me decide when to install them". No reason to disable the update service. And yes, the computer won't restart with that option. It shows a icon in the taskbar saying that updates are ready to install, but that's about it. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Firefox was made to combat the feature creep the Mozilla suite browser was plagued by. So there's a good reason why 452452 tools isn't included by default.
And then there's browsers like Chrome who goes even further. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by DahrkDaizI do not think memory footprint is a concern nowadays, especially if you are keeping tracks of the actions done rather than making it store old copies of the levels. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by blackhole89Acmlmboard 1.x was pretty much dumped for it's messy codebase and strange exploits (Like modifying a form to give yourself admin status). I'm surprised Acmlmboard 1.X boards are still around. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

JUL is actually based on Board 2 as far I know, though it returns some of the features of the Acmlmboard 1.x line. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

If the next release is going to be 1.0, I would actually suggest a quick release candidate shortly before that. It can be a quick test done public or either amongst a few chosen on IRC or whatever. Just for the sake of formality, and to make sure the 1.0 release (which would be a major milestone) is somewhat stable. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Grabbed the Batman game (apparently it's a really good game despite being a "licensed game") and Osmos. Gonna be intresting what else will be sold, none of the other current ones interests me. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Check the event log of Windows? Especially the system log. Weird hardware stuff is usually mentioned there. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Slashdot Link, Article with a link to the (now removed) video.
Been awhile since the last emulation case, I remember there was some early case in the late 80's where some competitor actually got away with it, since the emulator itself isn't illegal. I'm not sure what Nokia is thinking by showing videos of first-party Nintendo games running on said emulators thou. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by RetroRainThere always been crap games, and some of my favorite games was released this decade infact. I don't think it will automatically make a game better because it's "retro". ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I recognize that tune anywhere.
I don't think we ever remade the Ninja AE theme for later board versions. Probably for the better. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

This game have many fun moments. Such as throwing a damsel off a ledge, hoping she lands safe... only to find out later she landed on spikes.
I hadn't beaten the game, but I gotten to the third area at least. I admittedly hadn't played Spelunky that much too, plus I tend to be obsessed with finding everything. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Hardest room for me was veni. Mind you, I was trying to get all the trinkets I could get, and I got seventeen of them in total. I suspect the three missing ones is probably unobtainable and can only be gotten in the full game.
4374 flips and 1061 deaths. If the game was a bit cheaper I might get the full game. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

One thing I would try is probably sniffing my packets. Either through a "man in the middle" or directly on the computer. Wireshark works good. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Me posting the R/B/Y mew glitch on the board, and none believed me.
And Squid Cache... and that around the worst Gunbound craze, my broadband broke down, making me fall back to dial-up for about a month. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Free as gratis yes, free as in freedom... no. For alternatives away from Firefox, I find Google Chrome to be a more intresting open source... if somewhat controversial browser (then there's the privacy-focused forks). ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

1. I don't even think if you can force focus into the applet (and might be a bad idea to force it infact if possible). Most plugins are like this to start with anyway.
2. Might be possible to increase the contrast slightly but it's very readable for me. I suspect you're using a aged CRT monitor, it's not really that hard for me to read. 3. The IRC client seems did roll their own solution with the IRC textbox, which is why it opens a separate window for copying and pasting. I don't think Java applets are allowed to mess directly with the clipboard, unless access is "elevated". ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org
