It's things like this which make me wonder how evil it must have been to be in the same hotel with all those Politicians.

Another topic by Grey Mario? It must involve destroying the HTML of the page!

*Destroys page with <div>*

Oh, wait, you meant nonsense instead? Ah well.

Pancakes and Waffles are both good, but a Pancake on a spatula needs to be eaten.

Eh, if you SQL'd it right, it wouldn't implode.

But it'd be time wasted that could go on a new feature! :O

Eh, I won't have to worry about it--if I make a hack, I'll be well aware it'll start out sucky and take years to make good.

They just fail to instruct newbies how it goes in a non-stupid manner.

My parents don't tell me anything; I stay up as I wish and so forth. That way, I know for myself the value of sleep, rather than having to be told it's important.

I do not see the point in this; this board is relatively small, and does not need more staff. What it needs is a real leader, which this sort of chaos has done nothing but prevent the existence of.

Personally, I would simply suggest finding a new, non-controversial person to run the board to fill the shoes of Xkeeper. If you have multiple staff, they are likely to conflict with one another, and as I have personally seen, if you're not all on the same side, it's gonna cause a mess.

But I will not waste space here if no one is interested in my opinion.

I know all that happened.

In short, it was stupid.

There are these things people don't use, like "Compromise" or "Peacefully disagree" or "Collaboration" that went out of the window unreasonably for both sides.

Small numbers of administration are bad. Lean staff leads to too few different opinions and too high chances of somebody's individual preferences taking over.

Sure, more staff makes decision-finding more difficult and slower, but it improves the impartiality... besides, most people would agree that the large staff put in place after Incarnation 2 did a good job.

Large staff can result in grouped up factions, and Incarnation 2 exploded.

I am curious as to more reasons why you think small administration numbers are bad. People who lean towards one person winning out shouldn't really be staff in the first place, unless they have complete control. Hence, for your idea of Acmlm's board, I can see why you deposed Xkeeper.

But more staff simply means more opinions, and thus the most popular opinion wins out. That's not so much impartial as it is rule-by-majority. I have seen these in place in many places. I worry for the effectiveness of this system. Unless, of course, you select for impartiality; then you could have something like the Supreme Court.

Tell me... you know some history, right? How did Incarnation 2's system crash to bring us here in the first place? I do not have quite as good a clue as you would. And as I said earlier, it worries me. I do not want the board to explode.... again.

I have watched both sides, and I knew this would happen from day 1 of Blackhole's thing. Xkeeper cannot get along with hosts who assert their own views.

Here's what happened: Blackhole bailed Xk out of the whole ||bass server space losing thing. Naturally, he expected some sway in exchange for forum space. Xk either did not notice or ignored it, but over time Blackhole insisted more.

With the movement off of Espernet, Blackhole seized the initiative and told Xk to move to his network. I knew Xk would disagree and told him it'd create issues, but he went anyway. I even stayed on the Espernet one to try to prevent this kind of collision.

I told him over and over again to either assert himself or pull out. He finally pulled out, and that's the simple story; this happened because of a misunderstanding of whether or not, as a host, Blackhole had power over Acmlm's.

Naturally, property is 9/10ths of the law, so Blackhole wins as ||bass did before. I do not believe there is any 'right' side, mostly misunderstandings everywhere.

The paint is on the wall: Acmlm is not here and the community has no real leader at the moment.

How this is handled... is up to Blackhole, who decided he would inherit Xk's burden. Be careful, Blackhole--it's a widowmaker.

Perhaps instead of arguing, we should fix things. I would think a little mediation in this situation would go a very long way.

In further thinking, this fighting is ridiculous. When we started, Acmlm's was more or less Xkeeper's thing. Acmlm decides it isn't anymore, but that's on the basis of something Blackhole did to aggravate Xkeeper. On the other hand, Xkeeper's bomb and other things he did were wrong...

We should try to set things back to how they would be without this petty arguing. I applaud the board not (totally) exploding, however I don't think that means opening the floodgates to people who were banned before or hiring a bunch of random staff people so they can conflict too.

Naturally Xkeeper cannot lead if Acmlm chooses so, but I'd really want to see what Acmlm has to say on this matter. I'm not sure if he saw both sides or had any real time to think on this, which would cause a stop-gap solution. And none of us want to be around when something like that cuts loose on us.

Does anyone really own Acmlm's board anymore? Perhaps there is a reason that one of the original names for ||Bass's board was "Nobody's Board."

Overall, it appears that we have Acmlm partially to blame for all the chaos all this time.

'Cause you have all these different staff members, but the solution is always the same: Board explosion. Sad, isn't it?

From what I've heard, Acmlm code seems to be buggy by nature--it does not surprise me if, say, more things break over time, and attempts to add features cause errors too.

I would be surprised, pleasantly, if instead those errors went away. But then I would claw at the screen, and fight with more of the monsters which haunt dreams like the one which would include that. :p
