My site isn't worth much, but that doesn't surprise me given how well I maintain it. I really should do something productive with it some day.

I live in Adelaide, South Australia.

Adelaide is the capital of South Australia, with a population of about 1 million. It is frequently the subject of jokes made by people who live in Sydney and Melbourne.

It is also apparently the murder capital of Australasia; which is what some of the aforementioned jokes are about.

Good
It's a fairly quiet place for the most part. Although this is a bad thing also. On the bright side, not a lot happens. On the bad side, not a lot happens. The Adelaide Hills are beautiful and we are surrounded by lovely things like wine districts and beautiful beaches.

We know how to throw a good party though when something is happening, such as the Adelaide Fringe Festival, or the V8 Supercars or such.

Bad
Can be as boring as hell. Housing prices are going up, out of range of most young people / most people are becoming stuck in the rent trap (inc. myself). Adelaide drivers are tailgating fuckwits.

I would just like to know what the time limit is.

It also bothers me that I cannot compose a new thread while I wait for the time limit....

I actually found the movie rather funny. I thought I was going to hate it, but I didn't.

Considering that girls are a lot like that, I found it a little interesting to watch too at times. But I doubt it taught any kids anything.

Hurt by Nine Inch Nails, from the album The Downward Spiral.

I am finding myself listening to more Nine Inch Nails lately. Do I like it.... or do I like it because my partner likes it and it reminds me of him?

I think a little of both.

Nope, today hasn't felt longer than any other day.

But I did feel like I did a lot of stuff on my Saturday night in a short amount of time. A lot of very fun stuff (new things yay)

I recommend that everyone go out and find somewhere that sells Timmermans Peche Lambic beer NOW.

Bah, that's probably an Aussie-only or an imported beer.

It's Belgian. And the Belgians know how to make gooooood beer. That particular one tastes of peaches.

Augh, I hate those "mosquito" ringtone things, they hurt my ears. But apparently at 26 years of age, I should not hear them at all!

Another adult could hear them too, so posted The Mosquito Ringtone: This Adult Can Hear it.

I'm curious - what pitch can you hear, and how old are you?

I am 26 years old, and the highest one I can hear is the 16961 Hz pure sine wave.

I am also wondering though if the reason I cannot hear the last one is:

* I am quite blocked up in my ears / nose right now
* My speakers may not be able to produce that frequency

So I shall try later too on better speakers and antihistamines.

There is -- as I stated -- the possibility that your speakers may not reproduce those frequencies either.

Use the best quality speakers you have access to. If this means headphones, use those.

I'm currently reading an old children's story on Project Gutenberg that I am unsure if many of you would be familiar with.

It's called Dot and the Kangaroo and it's a story I remember seeing as a film when I was a child. I wasn't aware the book was written so many years ago (1899) and so was then rather pleased when I could find it on Project Gutenberg.

I've read other things on Project Gutenberg before too. I think I might have even read Nineteen Eighty-Four on there.

Just wondering -- have you guys checked out Project Gutenberg? What have you read / are you reading?

I work on a Help Desk, although I've not been working much lately due to illness. I won't be back for a further two weeks owing to this cursed virus.

I don't mind my job, but it can be tiring and stressful at times. And some clients are very rude and demanding.

Text on iPod ads is white.

Colours are usually quite saturated, but by no means simply the generic saturated colours.

Meh... Playing Guitar Hero is nothing like playing a real guitar. It's just a bunch of button presses. Playing a real guitar is far more fun, and playing songs in an actual rock band with an electric guitar is even better.
Did anybody say it was like playing a real guitar?

This is one of my pet peeves actually, people who have a go at Guitar Hero because it's nothing like playing a real guitar. DUH. It's a game.

Dance Dance Revolution is not like real dancing. Sim City is not like being a real city planner. Battlefield Vietnam is not like having been a real soldier in the Vietnam War. I don't think anybody thinks that Guitar Hero is like playing a real guitar. We all know it's five buttons and a "strum bar".

I just see it as a game -- and a very fun one at that -- not an attempt to actually play guitar. If anything it's glorified air guitar with on-screen prompts. But it's fun (like air guitar). And like air guitar, you don't need to play a real guitar to do it (although playing a musical instrument *may* help you with the rhythm aspect of things).

It's also worth noting that a few articles I've read seem to indicate that the game is getting people to pick up their real guitars and mess with those too again, or inspire people to take up the guitar. So that's fairly nifty.

At the moment, I'm not doing anything. I'm still suffering the fatigue part of the Glandular Fever thing so still resting.

When I am better, I will go back to walking 5 or so km on weekdays, and swimming around 2km on weekends.

True to what I said in the early days of this mayhem, I did have a look at the other board and consider which one I would prefer to post at.

But I agree with sentiments earlier in this thread about it being a "mess", and I don't find that there's much there that I would want to talk about / respond to / etc. I'm one of these people that likes to post when I have something to say -- and I would just never have anything to say there. The structure of conversation is a lot more like Instant Messaging, and I never understood message-board-as-instant-messaging style forums.
