A lot of cartoon characters only have three fingers -- most famously, the Simpsons. It's a common thing in cartoony artwork -- which I think this picture is; I've not gone with a particularly realistic or serious art style here.

I thought the thing was destroyed by your ex-BF or whatever during a violent fight... or did it survive that?

It survived that, but took some minor damage.

I think some important chip somewhere died. Funny, all the CPU and Video looked ok... if unreadable from heat...





The fault was certainly something "logic board" (motherboard) related, but I couldn't find scorch marks or anything.

It doesn't start anymore. On turning it on, the fan starts up loudly, and no picture on the screen. Then all you can do is turn it off by pulling the battery out.

If you are lucky you would get the Apple logo to come up, which would then start to be overtaken by magenta, black and cyan vertical lines until the screen is covered. Again it had to be turned off by taking the battery out.

It would not load the Hardware Test, it wouldn't load anything. When discussed with Apple techs, everyone said "yes, that's definitely the logic board".

So I salvaged what I could, took photos of the rest.



And I nicked a key as a keepsake.

I don't often look at pornography, but when I do there is no need to save it to my hard drive. With the rise in internet speed, etc, Pornography has become a consumable, there isn't any need to horde it.

Why define a position?

Wouldn't <div style="padding: 3px;"> do it just fine?

I'd err against using position unless absolutely necessary. It wouldn't be necessary if your intention was simply to add padding. Am I missing something?

I am a little confused at that particular approach. Course, it could be that it's 1am and I've spent most of today either working or packing to move home.

I think if Acmlm has decided that there should no longer be an "Acmlm's Board", then it should be left at that. If someone were to run a forum under my name that I did not approve of, I would be pretty upset about it.

I think we definitely need to find out for sure what Ace's stance is on this and act accordingly.

I think the "community" that remains at the moment is very divided anyway.

I still think that if Acmlm doesn't want the board to be "Acmlm's Board" then it shouldn't be.

In 1961 when Gibson changed the design of the "Les Paul" guitar (to what became the "SG") without informing Les Paul, Les did not like the design of the guitar and requested that his name be taken off it. Gibson complied and took Les Paul's name off the instrument, renaming it the SG.

So, a big company with a lot of money behind branding can get it right....

It's as simple as renaming the board.
