Whilst the shadows would be a nice addition, it will look weird having no shadow on Mario and enemies, etc. unless you could somehow get that working too..

Love the graphics as they are though.

This is true. Maybe I can make the ground under the pipes and bocks different somehow other than a shadow... hmm...


Why not do something like a little dithering to bring the block and pipe out into the screen a little without the use of a shadow? It could be used to make the pipe look a little more rounded, too. Something like..

Very nice. That background is a mix of Palmtree Panic and the special stage, isn't it? Seems to have reduced in colors nicely, at least.

(The rest is rather clearly Palmtree Panic's past.)


You would be correct on all accounts, except for some elements of Quartz Quadrant Past in that background too.

The far background is mockup only right now, but the rest is all in, and I'm in the process of putting the far background in as you look at this. (Yes, it's within the palette limitations of the Mega Drive.)
