I just got an (unbanned, legit) Xbox 360 S model, so I have been catching up on some Halo Reach and some XBLA games: Super Meat Boy, N+, Marble Blast Ultra, and I have yet to check out Castle Crashers.

Ah, that's good. I am glad you aren't involved with that airport security bullshit. That whole team of crackerjack fuckin' fruitloops just needs to be lynched.

... Did you get cavity searched or something?
Nah, man. They just make you go through all this technology that doesn't fucking work and end up searching you anyway. I used to work at an airport, and I know enough to know how to get what I want past TSA. Waste of resources, waste of money. Fuck them.

I believe that music causes conscious and subconscious recognition of memories (such as people, times, and likes as you say) thus invoking emotional responses. Excitability, happiness, and sadness being some of the common ones, emotional responses can also be attributed to chemicals such as endorphins and serotonin being released. Both of these chemicals are known to induce feelings of well-being.

The rhythm and the beat of music itself can possibly enhance these feelings as it exercises the brain as it tries to process the sound.

This is all just an observational speculative statement, I don't have any source whatsoever for it.

I used to watch it back when I knew a guy who also watched it. We're not in close contact anymore, so I'm not very interested in it at all. It's a raunchy mens' soap opera. If I had to choose to watch a soap opera nowadays, it would be Deep Space Nine.

well, one way I found the tempo for SMB3 songs was to load up the code/data logger in FCEUX. Run the logger when you start hearing the song you want to edit, and just wait until the amount of data logged no longer raises. Then, look at your RAM/ROM and look for bytes that are blue. Those will be your notes and song header bytes. Once you find the header, it's likely that the tempo will be part of it.

No, we had the Frozen Synapse "bundle". They didnt even give it a number because they damn well knew it didn't deserve one. But THIS bundle has made up for it. Amazing games in here!

I am looking to somehow gather up all SMB3 related documents and information. I would like to create a cache of easily accessible data instead of having to dive into all of the SMB3 threads such as this one. So if any of you have any info that is slightly more coherent or otherwise unreleased that you can share, post them here and I will try to compile everything into a more organized state. Thanks!

Anyway, raising the mood avatar limit takes all about twelve seconds. All you need to do is change two variables in one file and POOF, done. I had suggested it a while back but :/

Depleted uranium is fun to play with. Hardly radioactive. Impressive due to its weight to volume ratio.

Anyway, all I want for Christmas is to fly to Arizona and not crash. And a badass computer, which I know I won't get.

Honestly KP, I find it more manly to be able to stand by what you like, regardless what it is, rather then lie about it. Maybe that's just my opinion, but whatever. :<
It's not standing up to what you like, it's what you like in the first place.

Also, Kawa, I think you would have been better off just not saying anything at all in the first place. Usually it's pretty obvious if a grown ass man walks up to the register the cashier just assumes that what you're buying is not for you. By outright stating that they're for you, you declare yourself all kinds of weird without even giving a thought to how you might be labeling yourself to society. It's kinda like a grown man walking up to the register with nothing but tampons and going "They're for me" right away.

On-Topic: I still might even get that badass computer, but indirectly. It will be my roommate's, but he's putting it in the common area and will most definitely give me access to it.

There are a ton of things that I want, but it's limited by two things: my family's price range, and it has to fit into my carry-on bag for my flight back home. So, whatever they get me is going to be a great surprise.

I got cash, and a plane ticket to visit family. I've been away for the past week and have been able to enjoy their company. With my cash I got a badass "Aperture Laboratories" tee, along with some other clothes. Other than that, nothing else, really.

As an early birthday/Christmas present, my roommate bought me an Xbox 360 S model bundle.

Also, I got my brother a bag of marshmallows with a note attached that read "Since coal is expensive, you get snowman poop instead."

If I'm not mistaken, there's a bob-omb sprite that you can use that has a very short fuse. You'll have to look for it; I can't remember where I've seen it except for the fact that I've seen it. There's probably also a (hopefully simple) way to implement something like that through ASM.

<KP9000> you've got to learn to see shit for face value
<KP9000> what I said is what I said
<KP9000> not whatever you think it might mean
<blackhole89> people expect you to read between the lines all the time
<KP9000> well, what's between the lines is negligible when that's
what you're doing constantly, leading to false pretenses and pathways
<KP9000> it's irritating
<KP9000> and I'll go ahead and submit that as one of the problems I've had with this place

It's one of the things I believe accounted for bad administrative decisions as well as lack of administrative action altogether.

If it weren't for that ghastly bright orange bar I would absolutely love it. Why you've decided to take such an astonishing deviation from such an otherwise pristine theme is beyond me.

Kill it with fire.

It's not that I'm trying to say I will take down the board unless enough people tell me not to in a sufficiently convincing tone; rather, I have come to believe that we can not go on as things are at the moment and am asking for suggestions, possibly of a radical kind, for changes to make to the board, staff composition etc. that could plausibly reverse this trend of inactivity. A simple "please keep going, I'd hate to see it go as long as somebody drops by and posts once in a week or so" is not really satisfactory.
You, and many others, want this place to stay alive. Well, that's great and all, but it's not simply enough to want to want. Suggest something to do to drive activity.

In IRC I suggested some forum restructuring. Drop the bad/pointless forums, re-categorize the existing ones, and make new forum descriptions. Even rename a few of them.

I also feel that submitting my opinion on certain matters would serve to condemn me in the end since it would appear that because I'm staff on Kafuka my opinion might be biased.

I also suggested the cleanup. The forums and their categories have been slightly modified and I believe we will be changing and removing other forums to make way for new ones.

As for ROM Hacking, I sort of do, but I can't really call myself a ROM hacker in its intended meaning. I prefer the use of the editor which mostly boils down to your ability to navigate around an editor as well as level design, instead of the nitty gritty mechanics and inner workings of a ROM. I have been known to make workarounds for the problems that arise but when I don't have the skills I rely on the community for help. That's what will take a huge hit if we lose that section. So, what I suggest needs to be done here is what was done for TEK back in the day; recruit some hackers and hopefully more hackers and casual people will follow.
