I got involved in a car accident today. Scary stuff. The backend of my car got clipped as I was turning a corner, and I spun out across the street, and the other side of my car smashed a fire hydrant. My car still runs lovely though, the frame just needs to be bent away from the tires now. The guy that hit me totally borked up his rig though. No injuries either, just a ton of damage.
I'd drive a car that was smashed as long as it ran... mine just crapped out on me today. Engine failure...

I've got a sentimental value placed on my vehicle.

If I can get the Mythbusters to blow it up, thus immortalizing it on my favorite show, that will fulfill my sentimental attachment to it. Blowing it up in the desert just will not suffice.

If you think about it, bumper stickers are more unoriginal than vanity plates. I can guarantee that the average motorist is less likely to have a vanity plate rather than a bumper sticker. Then again, you can do a lot more with a bumper sticker than you can with 7 available cahracters on a license plate.

I was a victim of wishful thinking in which I'd hoped that the thread would turn better. But, alas, it is not so.

People have been making lots of garbage threads lately.

finisher, would you kindly take about 2 minutes to learn how to embed your videos and overall make your threads better quality they have been?

There isn't much motivation to manually take these links and paste them into the address bar. (Waah, yeah I know) Threads like these are frowned upon.

In short, at least make your stuff clickable. Preferably, embed your images here and make sure they are of appropriate size. It's okay to go ahead and embed videos too, as long as they're not invasive.

So, I'm to hijack some code and JSR to some free space, use the correct STA operand for writing to $4F5 in RAM, then RTS? Where is this hijack point?

Edit: I suppose I could use the data logger to find out what code is executed and just hijack some code from there. Maybe. I'm still an ASM noob so we'll see.

You do know that there's a "preview" button, right? Try to keep the number of edits per post to a minimum. All these edits are unnecessary.

People want to work with other people who seem like they know what they're doing and can handle the daily rigorous task of managing a project. Your grammar/punctuation skills (or lack thereof) don't exactly portray you as a project leader.

I wish you good luck with this, you will need it. I would help you, but I've got my own project going. Please keep this in mind, thanks!

We don't really have a welcoming forum, but we do have a Stickied Thread for welcoming/introducing new members.

Anyway, thanks for joining and welcome to board2! I'm closing this now, but feel free to post in that thread I linked above!

(PS, did you know this is the remnant of the old Acmlm's board?)

Yeah, I've since raised the opacity in my layout. However, I've been contemplating adding a translucent PNG instead due to the nagging and whining the fact that I post a lot of images. And the nagging and whining.

Well, I suppose if we don't hear from Stark within a few days I think one of us staff should wrap this up. I am willing to do the honors, so if anyone else wants to do it, come forward!

Now that I think of it, being a member of staff isn't necessarily a requirement for this. I think if you're a respectable and funny enough veteran you're qualified enough. Oh, and funny too. But you've stated that, Kawa. ;P

If staff doesn't have a problem with it, you've got the green light from me!

Now, I do want to give all members of staff a chance to take the reigns here, so if I don't hear anything in about two days' time I'm gonna close this down and pass this on to Kawa. All good people?

Two Days! Deadline set!

* You may not cast votes for a person in more than five categories.

It changes the results but it also deviates from tradition, with was three categories from the beginning. A small technicality.

I think it's a bad idea. I mean, it's basically a number that represents (in some unit of measurement) how long your e-dick is. It's the seed of tons of potential arguments, flame wars, and just overall tension that we could easily do without. What part of a post is insufficient enough to warrant something like this?

Freaking sweet, got it working. didn't even have to use any execute breakpoints either.

Anyway, I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this table of data. I think I'm gonna try and make another ASM hack with it.

You know, I've been looking for someone to help me out with levels in my hack. However, I'm not so sure... Ill have to see. If anyone is gonna help me though it's someone that already has the latest beta Reuben build and the ROM as well, which leaves me with Quick Curly and JaSp that I know of off hand.

By the way, JaSp, could you PM me some details on your music hack so maybe I can take a look at the code and see 1) how it works and 2) fix some bugs that exist with random stuff...

Really? I could have sworn...

Anyway, I'm trying to get a hold of DahrkDaiz to maybe get permission to let someone (like you) help with this hack. I have very big plans for this hack. I already have some great ASM hacks planned, most of which I can actually do!

Well, I chose to go with Reuben because my most frustrating things to deal with were:

1) Space available for levels, enemies
2) Pointer oddities
3) Data positioning
4) Graphics & TSA constraints
5) Its the same damn thing as every other hack.

With Reuben, I do have certain limitations as well, such as:

1) Vertical levels are buggy
2) Door pointers are also buggy
3) World Map animation properties/pipes/locks are still unsupported
4) Reuben is still in beta, and I can't get a hold of DD to discuss bugs and distribution of materials (for possible assistance with my hack)
5) Probably more that I can't remember at the moment.

I can justify using Reuben because I get far greater satisfaction due to the sheer power of the features it has:

1) I can make levels look absolutely stunning. Graphics limitations have been blown wide open.
- Almost unlimited palettes
- More than one tileset available for each TSA set (one fortress TSA set, two or more tilesets for it!)
2) Having a hack in progress using Reuben gives you a feeling of uniqueness. Nobody else (as far as I know) has a hack of this scale in progress using Reuben.
3) I am completely motivated to work on this hack because the most difficult aspects of hacking the original game are lifted!

Needless to say, I think this hack will be the first real work I will have completed.

I also have a few different levels to show off, so maybe some screenies might show up in my thread soon enough!
