World 8-7 is possibly the best Mario level ever conceived. After I unlocked it I played it 3 times in a row. It was so awesome.
I got to that level so I could test your statement, and you were right, it is the best level ever.

There's a bit of code that checks what world you're on and determines the next world from there, so if you just change that bit of code to something where you can specify what world comes after the next, all you have to do is specify world 9 as the next world and then design world 9 in such a way that would appear like you're going to like world 10 or something when in fact the world you're going to is just an edited world 2 or something to that effect.

Whew, run-on sentence FTW.

That would allow the Koopa Kids to remain intact and able to be used. the only real issue is getting the number underneath the pipe in world 9 to show what you wanted, which isn't much of a problem either.

DST was enstated because of farms needing more daylight to get their work done while the sun was still out, but since a lot of farming is done with more machinery, I think they should abolish it.
If this is true, then DST was really instated because people didn't have enough fucking common sense to just adjust scheduling because they didn't realize that instating DST doesn't magically give them more daylight.

The Map Editor is a bit obscure as far as how to get to it... Might I suggest perhaps make it a little bit more evident that there is a map editor and how to get to it?

Also, the TSA editor for the map tiles... it crashes when you click the special icon tick boxes. you probably already know why that happens but I've supplied the tile definitions for you already, here.

Couple of things that are irritating me is my inexperience with MuseScore. I have no fucking clue how to work this program. My issue with it is the files I seem to feed it get assigned their own instruments. This file only has two tracks in it and I can't seem to find out how to change the instruments. The reason I want to change the instruments is when you write to the MusicXML format, the program tends to want to maintain the integrity of the instrument, not the note itself. So, is it possible to get it to just export the goddamn note that it is supplied with?

Also, my winamp for some reason is screwing up. the music inserter starts up winamp every single time I press the nsf button in this release. Can we have an option to disable winamp startup when you hit that button?

I will post some .smb3song files when I get some acceptable results. Thanks JaSp!

Yes, "Compile ROM" basically means to take your project and implement it into your ROM. All of the level data, graphics, and other odd ends. Since the editor is project based, you aren't saving to the ROM. All of the "Save" buttons save to your project only, so the last possible button you could click to finally save your ROM would be "Compile ROM".

This function exists in the editor already and works fine, but isn't active yet because the patch that sets up the ROM for Reuben isn't ready. When that's ready, Reuben will apply the patch then compile the ROM.

Most of this stuff I'm just echoing from what DD has said in IRC...

Boing, that's weird. First I hit post 1111, then you do not shortly afterward.

We would like you to submit this hack on the front page as well.

As for the hack, it looks pretty fun. I really like what you did with the Rainbow Road track sets. It looks like the AI driving is done too. Good work.

Edit: thanks for your edit.

as for MuseScore, I merely use it as a converter; I just open a MIDI file with it and save as a MusicXML file
This process seems to mess with the sequencing of the notes to get as close to the instrument that specific track was assigned to in MuseScore. So, when you finally get your MusicXML file, mess with your song in the converter to get it the way you want, it just doesn't sound right in the nsf.

Example, there is a midi I used that had eighth notes that when finally converted sounded like 32nd notes. It bore a resemblance to the instrument used in MuseScore.

Shit, JaSp, I'd help as much as I can with this, so if you need my help I'm here... just can't code worth shit though.
