Tchiakovsky's Overture 1812.

For whatever reason, I have this song on my computer. It's not like I hadn't heard it before, but I never really listened to it before. And let me just say this: it's ballin.

I kind of want to do a mashup; We Fly High (1812) type deal.

Now that would be bling blat.

Shaun of the Dead.

Not only is it one of the funniest movies of all time, it's about a zombie outbreak, and there is a gratuitous amount of gore. Definitely check it out if you haven't already.

Well...it's not like it was a bad movie, but it wasn't that great. It makes itself out to be a mostly serious, and play-by-the-rules movie. But then...when
Spoiler:
Wolverine got the cloning device? I just couldn't take that seriously after how the rest of the movie had played out. I mean, even the Christian Bale twin scenario was cool in my book, because it was more belieable than the Tesela machine.

@Guru:
Spoiler:
I'd make the argument that Wolverine was better than Batman, because Batman killed off his wife and drove away his mistress; what did Wolverine do? He ran the risk of either being the one getting the applause, the prestige (god damn I love that term), or drowing to death.

I say that not only was Wolverine's a harder choice, (barring scientific inaccuracies), it was more righteous than Batman's.

The reason I don't know their names is because I saw this in a classroom on campus and the audio was horrendous.

Spoiler:
My interpretation was that Angers didn't know if he would be the prestige, or the dead guy. Didn't he say that to Batman at the end when they had their lovey-dovey last moments together?

But...if Angers was always the prestige, and the clones of him were drowning...that's a bit fucked up.

Needs more Cowboy Bebop. Bebop stands alone as one of the few shows that actually establishes a concrete world and operates within its own predefined rules. There's no bending of the laws of physics or characters suddenly getting stronger in a pinch, and after seeing so many instances of that, it's something I can really appreciate. The dub's also fantastic.

This man speaks the truth. Cowboy Bebop is the be all end all to anime in my opinion.

Bebop is technically all filler and style.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this note. Strongly.

Just because a series uses an episodic plot doesn't mean there's "no plot" or it's "all filler." If there's one thing that really grinds my gears it's people who have become so preconditioned to climactic plots that they refuse to recognize episodic plots as the legitimate (and, frankly, more realistic) method of storytelling that they are.

this man speaks so much truth I might give him the nickname of J "The Truth" Davis even if that's already Paul Pierece's nickname.

And there still is a story arc...

Disagree.

I was pumped for Death Proof and only faintly looking forward to PT. I ended up enjoying them in the opposite fashion.

PT was better than DP for a host of reasons. Neither were really great, but PT still outshone DP.

For starters, PT had a coherent plot that engaged us. DP just was like a half baked plot that ends SO stupidly. The feminine characters were soooo fucking annoying that I was rooting for Stuntman Mike, and I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I especially hated how all of a sudden these characters are like "LET'S KILL HIM!" Like WTF? Psychopath station, now boarding.

the trailers, which everyone is also blabbing about were good, but they don't really make the whole Grindhouse experience worthwhile.

And Toxic, eh, Death Proof was funny because it went totally opposed to what you expected to get out of it, and it was totally anticlimactic.

I would say Planet Terror was better, though.

But why does it matter? Even if you didn't particularly like them both, you enjoyed the faux trailers and it was still two movies for the price of one.

I didn't really find it funny to be honest. The dialogue was brutal. The ending wasn't really anti-climatic so much as just bad. The characters were just weak.

And if I didn't like them both...I think that would matter. I wouldn't really want to pay to see a few trailers I can find on youtube in a couple of days. Planet Terror sort of made it worthwhile, and if Death Proof was just the chase scene and didn't involve any of the other bullshit. I mean, let's be serious, Death Proof was two movies only loosely connected.

hilarious Man. U game. I mean just absolutely pitiful performance by Roma. Totti ate his words about English football after that.

As for Chelsea, let's just say I was nervous like you read about. Essien from RIGHT BACK with the screamer by the near post.

Bring on Liverpool baby.
