If one invented an arm prosthesis capable of doing everything a regular arm can, but be a lot stronger and way less fragile, would you be willing to replace your fully functional arm with it?

The default Layer 3 images are overused and should therefore be avoided.

...now, why didn't I ever finish my Layer 3 editor? Hmm... I might be able to throw together a primitive and partially manual program just for this project... Emphasis on "might".

Right. Since my old thread was closed, JUL was restored from a backup and I was busy with other things, 8 PER SCANLINE took a small break. Here's the 12 first comics (again). New comic tomorrow.

I disliked how this looked, so I started remaking it in Photoshop, which was even worse.

The Flash file for this one was lost (or rather, partially overwritten with #3). Also, Mario's angry frame has changed since the first comic.

When I planned the first season, this one was meant to be a second walking comic. Changing this forced to change my plans for a later walking comic where someone would ask why there always were two walking comics in a row.

Originally, the non-Mario characters would have traveled from their own universes to Mario's to find the Polygon Crystal and save their universes. (Hence the 3D guardian mentioning other 2D universes.) I changed my mind when I realized that it would be too serious.

The distance mentioned in #2 was chosen specifically for this.

This (and the next one) was intended to be walking comics, but I couldn't think of anything for them to do while walking, so I just thought of something random.

I actually had the parallel universe in mind for parts of the third season.

Originally, Mario was the one falling into the hole (hence Sonic's unusually clever comment) until I came up with the blue screen idea.

The Flash file has a faded blue background. I wrote an intentionally bad blue screen program just to get the proper bad effects. Making the program bad enough was actually a challenge.

The background's JPEG artifacts are intentional. Smallhacker probably made a quick Google Image search or something to find a good background.

The discussion about how lame cliffhangers are was originally supposed to last for two comics.

I corrupted the timeline in #6 by deviating from my original plans, so why not corrupt it even more?

The chains doesn't really look like chains... Try giving the turned links (i.e. the ones not facing the camera) a darker color.

Also, that's an interesting shape for a key hole.

The character was meant to be Fox McCloud. This was changed when I realized that there was no sprites for him. Link's reason for being underground is that he was looking for the Sky Temple (under the ground?), but I realized that he wasn't intelligent enough to explain that. (His personality was summed up in one word in my notes: LOLWUT.) The Laaaaaaaame comment was based on my brother's response to most of my ideas.

You're supposed to base your hack on it. Otherwise, there's a huge chance of it overwriting other data (or other data overwriting it).

The separate graphics patch is actually pretty crappily made... but I don't feel like remaking it.
