I really like the new Norfair.

The V-shaped platform layout is awesome. And the addition of the lava wave is perfectly in-theme with how Norfair works. So this version of Norfair is more Norfairy than ever before.

Also: Not everyone thinks Final Destination is the only good course. Live a little.

Addendum: The bad Metroid stage is Brinstar. That was a horrible idea.

Double addendum: Bryo is not gonna happen: we already have a fire stage. My money is on Skytown.

yeah, I'm down with the new Metroid level too, they usually aren't my favorite (especially the one with Kraid) It'd be cool it they could do something other than a cave/fire metroid level though, like something with cliffs, or overworld green. I'd take the cliffs of Zebes surface or Talon IV

I'm pretty sure he replaced Ness, which is unfortunate, as I like Ness, I think they should have had them both but changed up locas' moveset, or better yet, put the cowboy in instead of him and kept ness.

to sum this up.

for a retro mario gamer, there are lots of nods and winks to previous games. It plays very much like 64 and sunshine (no suprises here, I'm just talking about basic control) but the levels are much more action oriented that exploration.

I hate getting into linearity vs non. To me the only difference that will have on me is that I'll spend less time screwing around in the levels, so it will lower it's replay value, but it feels like the game itself is filled with a lot more fun sequences.

This game does not suffer from not knowing what is going on, it gives you action packed sequence after action packed sequence, If you are looking for an expansive mushroom kingdom to run around and explore, this is not your game. This really is more retro mario, back to the old school gameplay, but that's not a bad thing.

I don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread though, i think they COULD have had both, just like they could have had the autocam standard for casuals but also had optional camera control for those of us who know what we are doing and want a little more control.

hmm, lots of hate. I liked Majoras Mask, and I liked Wind Waker although it really ticked me off at times.

I liked Twilight Princess, but wait, I do agree with you guys but I'm going to explain it.

the problem with TP for me was that there wasn't enough exploration, there weren't enough sidequests, and there wasn't enough useless world that was just there to experience like past zelda games where it just feels big and alive. I figured with such a long lifecycle it just would have been longer.

I loved the way it was, but the zora place wasn't big enough, where was the ranch, castle town was cool, but you didn't get to go into any houses or hardly do anything or interact with anyone.

your initial village is pointless to return to, they don't let you wrestle Gorons again, and lots of stuff.

The bosses didn't take enough hits. I liked the story and style of this game but it needed to be longer, and even more than being longer it needed tons more sub and side quests and things to flesh it out and make if feel bigger and have more characters in it. Hyrule Field was desolate

NSMB was a heck of a lot of fun, I don't get it, it's like Super Mario Bros 1 again, it was tight.

you guys prolly don't like Yoshi's Island DS either do ya?.

Yeah I always wondered...

What if someone else created a game just like SM64, but the original SM64 was never created. and the following were converted:

Mario - Flying Beetle (Looks like pokemon Ledian)
Bowser - Big Evil Spider
Coins - Sunflower seed
Stars - Gemstones
And all the enemies were some other equivalent. But the landscaping of the levels were exactly the same.

...would anybody pay attention to it, because it wouldn't be a respected character like mario. It would be some nothing character not made by nintendo.

Fanboys prolly wouldn't care...

Am I a fan boy? I like mario because I like mario. I played his games since I was 5. And have good memories, however I like the 360, and some games on the playstation series. So I give a game a try, always, but I have liked nintendo made games more so than others, because I think they try a little harder.../.

I dunno..........

you're right, people think something is a piece of shit with nothing to grab them, that doesn't mean the gameplay is bad but if the game feels irrelevant and isn't publicized, that's really going to drag it down.

too bad Saki Amamiya is just an assist.

also yeah, if they were going to do shadow mario it would be better to have bowser jr. and then have a transform like zelda.

they could have had galactic mario though.

sounds like a nice idea, but there isn't enough room on the flash memory for something like that.

That's your only complaint? My complaint is that it's too linear, there are barely any side quests, and even things like the goron wrestling you can only do that one time and never again WTF? I just wanted a lot of more non story content, or side stroy content.

I'm happy he's not playable, Wario was a good idea, original, WaLuigi is a sad character with a sad name that only ever appears in party games. This makes me wonder if there is going to be a bowser Jr.

also yes, if you ever played Mario Land 2 on gameboy and Mario Land 3: Wario Land, then it would make more sense. the W is actually for an upside down M, if you play the game, just like Wario is a twisted and evil version of mario.

Wario had his own series of platformers, not just wario ware, his also had a puzzler with Toad as the protagonist, and was featured in a bomberman game, these, two are why he is so famous for his bombs.

WaLuigi on the other hand has only appeared in mario games, usually of the party nature, this is why he gets the mushroom kingdom logo. Seriously whoever thought that tacking the "Wa" on the front of Luigi is an idiot.

no that's right, I still think he's a slightly unoriginal character and hasn't been in any big titles but hey, I'm just a grouch. and yeah he was first in mario tennis which is why he has a tennis racket in brawl.

I like all the co-op they have in this game, but I bet they are not all online co-op capable, that would be even more awesome, also I doubt it will be in time, but there are rumors that nintendo might finally be bringing voice chat to the wii, lets hope that it makes it in for brawl even though it prolly won't, it'd be cool too if they could add that as a firmware upgrade, it'd also be nice to have in for the US release of Endless Ocean, or at least by the time Mario Kart comes out.

even the DS most people bought a headset. I'm assuming they'd just sell a headset, they have two usb ports for petes sake, it'd just have to be wireless. I have a feeling that since they've already had voice chat on DS for quite some time now that there is no reason they can't do it on their much more powerful home system. Honestly I don't know why they haven't done it yet with games like Medal of Honor Heroes 2 with 32 players online.

Heck, the Wii uses bluetooth. They couls just sell a wireless bluetooth headset. There are really several options here.

Well, personally I'm not much of a fan of... talking when playing games over online. Guess I'm just too shy or something.

Hmm, lot more coop elements now. Quite neat I must say.

I don't like talking to strangers, but I'd love to talk to my friends. Just like with the text commands you can only use with your friends. You could talk and laugh at a replay of a match too, it'd be cool, and if you didn't want to, you wouldn't have to either.

I guess I'll try to use the phone, or get my friend to get a 360 so we can voice chat while we play smash bros.

btw the new subspace emissary video looks sweet. I just can't wait!

true, there are a variety of solutions, it's just too bad that nintendo didn't impliment one themselves, I mean, it isn't that complicated, they did it for pokemon on the DS for crying out loud.

like I keep saying, most people use the DS headset, I think the game even came with it, they don't hunch over the systems mic. the system operates with blutooth devised, it really isn't that complicated.

he makes it sound as if wario is the only character that has a custom outfit. I would have figured more characters would have custom outfits like peach/daisy. Maybe he said that wrong? or it is a mistranslation.

Peach and Daisy is different because Daisy is still just another recolor costume of Peach, while this one actually has different polygons and its own set of recolors.

Sucks that Wario's the only one though, others would have been nice like Mario --> Dr. Mario and Link --> Ocarina Link.
Don't you mean Link --> Ordon Link?

no he doesn't, link in Brawl is Ordon Link already by default, He's saying it would be cool if you could have a Dr. Mario outfit for Mario (assuming they remove all clone characters as separate characters) and have an OoT outfit for Ordon Link.

It's cool how some trophies you have to catch now, it's like Pokemon or something.

New Addiction:

instead of the trophy lottery, or bubble dispensor or whatever you want to call it, you have the

COIN LAUNCHER GAME

in this trophies fall down the screen and you have to shoot them with the coins you've collected, so if you're a good shot you can get more trophies. Of course I'm sure rarer ones will appear less often.

Also if you are hitting all the trophies you'll get bonuses and stickers etc. Also there are missiles that if they hit you before you shoot them down they'll reduce your coin amount.

I'm trying to think of another game that has you scrambling for things like that. Very cool, The text loaded before the picture and I just about had a heart attack when I saw "dragoon" (final fantasy)

anyways, very cool.

also I already eluded to the trophy stand being like a pokeball, or any other game where you capture things (pokemon was not the first)

I also like the exchanging data, I wonder what kind of stuff nintendo will be sending?
